Perfect location

This was one of the best houses we've rented. Layout and furnishings were great and kitchen well apportioned. Very short walk to the beach. The beach area was the best one we've been to in NC, and we've been to many. Great week!

Family beach week

Margarita Girl was a perfect fit for our family . Very comfortable and clean. And updated.The kitchen was well supplied.....in case you wanted to do a lot of cooking😂 Owners did the little extras like sending a gift bag with wine and snacks. Our family really enjoyed our stay.

Plenty of room for everyone

Other than the constant rain we had and the road flooding, we stayed dry in the house. There was plenty of room for all of ranging ranging from 6 months to 79. Pool was great after the beach.

Great house with a great location!

We shared this house with another family during the off season. The house is large, even with 4 adults and 4 kids we had several rooms that went unused during our week stay. The pool is very small, but nice for cooling off or just relaxing. The hot tub was also great for a relaxing soak, far enough away from the pool to not attract the kids while they splashed in the pool, but not too far to jump in for a cooling dip after a hot soak. There is also a community pool that is larger which is a short walk away. The fully-stocked kitchen was great and had everything we needed to prepare all our meals. The coffee maker was decent, but there is also a Keurig - in case you like to bring your own k-cups. There are many things to do in walking distance of this house. There is a strip mall with a Food Lion, shopping, several places to eat and 2 coffee shops (Dunkin and a local cafe). There is a second shopping area also across the street from the strip mall. A miniature golf and bumper car complex, beach toys, vehicle and bike rentals - all are a short stroll away. During our stay it rained very hard overnight Monday and all Tuesday. On Tuesday afternoon, the water started to cover the street! While the neighbors were experiencing flooding, we were safe since the house is elevated a couple of feet above street level. We saw neighbor pools and ground floors that were flooded, but we were high and dry! Walking through the 1.5' of standing water got kind of gross, but it was still a close walk to the beach. The only negative of our experience was the AC on the second floor wasn't working. I didn't know about it until later in our stay, but the 2 other adults and the children were sleeping in 80+ degrees while the thermostat was set to 73. I mentioned it to Elan, hopefully they had it fixed for the next guests. Elan was easy to work with. They had reminder emails and a phone call to make sure we were set and ready for our stay. When we checked in, we were provided with some essentials (paper towels, toilet paper, etc.) and a map to get us the rest of the way. This was our first stay in the Outer Banks, but we all had a blast and the house was a great value! Thanks!

We loved the house and the location. There was plenty of room and the house was well stocked with everything we needed. They main thing we were not happy with was the house was not cleaned very well upon our arrival. I understand the fast turn around time (6 hours), but there was sand in the bathtubs and food in the kitchen sink drain. Those are places I would definitely expect good cleaning to be done. There was definitely not 6 hours of cleaning done to the house. Unfortunately we arrived on Sunday evening and Monday was a holiday so we could not call about it until Tuesday morning. Elan did offer to send out cleaning people at that time, but by then we had purchased cleaning supplies and taken care of it ourselves. Elan also did offer to reimburse us for the cleaning supplies if we had the receipts, but of course we did not, because who keeps Food Lion receipts for cleaning supplies.....lol. That was the only compensation they could offer us, and of course their apologies. With that being said, we feel that we would still use Elan again for our rental needs in OBX. Hopefully have better luck in that department next time.
