'Note that there are several ad-on charges, e.g., for parking, resort fee etc. Small restaurant with limited selection in the building. Breakfast is good - either buffet or per order. Rooms are spacious, nice and clean. Good beds. Biggest advantage - very short walk to the historical buildings.'

'I stayed in a tavern room, which was right on Duke of Gloucester Street, in the middle of historic Williamsburg. It was a very cool experience, staying in this historic property for one night. The room had two doors: one inside the building and one (that doesn't open) on the street side. It was a bit unsettling to have someone trying to open my door from the street late that evening. 'I didn’t like the phone system. It was most unhelpful always assuming I knew who I wanted to talk to rather than addressing my question or concern. I never contacted anyone via the system. I had to relate my problems while paying my bill. The room service was not much better than getting food delivered by DoorDash. The food was good, but plastic eating utensils. Really! 'Tom and Sue are excellent hosts. If you love American history, this is the place to stay. The house is very well appointed with historical artifacts. It is a great jumping of point for all that Williamsburg (and Yorktown/ Jamestown) has to offer.
We stayed 4 nights and it was well worth it.
Breakfast was great every morning. I loved that Tom (and Sue, when she was available) would sit with us at breakfast. They are great conversationalists.'

'We like that it's close to many restaurants, Water Country USA and shopping. It' s central. Also it's clean and breakfast is provided. You can get coffee/hot tea any time of day in the lobby.
Rooms are starting to show wear/age. But still very comfortable. The shower was the only issue. Weak water pressure and scalding hot; lack of temperature control.
Easy check/in and out.'
