My wife and I were looking for a warm, relaxing vacation, with great swimming, away from the craziness of NYC, and we found this wonderful place, which more than met our needs!
Ed and Faith Anne are great hosts, (and wonderful people!), who also own and operate 'Exclusive Escapes ', a small fleet of 'cozier, more civilized, snorkeling cruise boats, as opposed to the larger group boats run by the cruise ship companies.
This is an absolute 'must do'!
The dive along the reef was amazing, like swimming in an aquarium tank! Then the second part was the trip to the other side of the island to visit another island where friendly Atlantic Ray's visit! Along the way we stopped to allow one of the crew to dive for live conch (he found 7!). Later, after arriving at the next island, he demonstrated the conch prep to all and then sliced it up into a fresh conch cerviche salad! Very tasty.This was served in individual dishes for all to eat:)
The location of Ed and Faith Anne's property is right across the street from one of the most spectacular swimming beaches you will ever enjoy. I have worked all around the world, including many places in the Caribbean, Bermuda Malaysia, Singapore, among others, and this beach, usually having no one else swimming, is in the top two. Enjoy!!
Also, Ed and Faith Anne also give you exclusive use of the their golf cart! Alot of fun and Huge help!
What makes this island more unique then Caicos Islands are the abundance of free roaming wildlife: alot of donkeys, horses, some cows, dogs (all friendly, tame), and some roosters, amongst others. This is Definitely a unique , fun, setting and sometimes on the noisy side but you get used to it (the donkeys like to be fed carrots:)
This will appeal more to the adventurous type than the sterile, resort, room service crowd.
