Park living at your doorstep! This updated 500 sq ft Cottage offers the ideal central location on Bidwell Park yet just minutes from Downtown Chico via bike or car. Shopping, restaurants and basically anywhere you are going is 10 minutes or less from the cottages location. This private cottage allows a relaxing space with driveway parking, enclosed back patio, split system heat and AC,. full kitchen with all you should need (ask us if not and we will hook you up), 2 TV's that have MAX, Disney plus, Paramount, and Prime, large walk in closet and more! As for us, we are in the 3 story home next door and will rarely see you due to how we set up the cottage and our other vacation rental on the other side. We respect your privacy yet are here for anything if needed. We have provided our top suggestions in our guidebook from everything including coffee and dining, to sightseeing and shopping. Experience Chico like a local with a pair of beach cruisers, included with your stay that our located behind the Treehouse unit over the garage.
Bidwell Park is Chico’s jewel! With the park as your backyard, you will be immediately transferred to another world as you step into it. With huge sycamore and oak trees surrounding you to the year round creek full of swimming holes, you feel free and away from it all. You will see why The adventures of Robin Hood (1938)used Bidwell Park to film its Sherwood Forest scenes and General John Bidwell decided to make the region home.
We offer an amazing location on Bidwell Park with 2 complimentary beach cruisers that gives you quick access to Downtown Chico (6 minutes), One Mile Pool (3 minutes), the Chico Mall (5 minutes), 5 Mile Pool ( 7 minutes), and Upper Park (15 minutes) . City bus stop only 50 yards from house. Access to dozens of walking paths in lower Bidwell Park.

Cute little place right off lower Bidwell park. It was right off highway 99 but it was not loud or obnoxious and surprisingly quite 95% of the time. I appreciated the small turffed shaded areas for the dogs, especially since I didn't want to walk them on the 100 degree days on the cement. It has an amazing location and is the perfect place for a single gal with 2 dogs to take refuge from the chaos of graduation weekend. The only negative (which was more a personal preference than a huge downside), was the shower. It was a standing shower but the dual shower head had too much pressure for the small holes the water came out, felt more like little needles than a relaxing shower. Would definitely recommend and stay again as long as they will have us!

Perfect location and well appointed

The little house is in a perfect location. We hit the walking trail first thing in the morning, which was lovely. The house itself has everything you could need. The bed was very comfortable and we had a peaceful night's sleep. We would definitely stay again if ever in the area. The owners are very friendly and accommodating.

I will start by saying the owner was very kind and communicative - which we appreciated. And on the positive side it was very clean. That said, this property is not set up for three guests. The fold out love seat futon is not fit for an adult to sleep on. The shower is very very small. Also, while not controlled by the owner; we were without electricity both nights from 8:30 pm for 60 to 120 minutes making it a challenge to get to bed at a decent temperature and hour. While the owner said it was unusual, the rechargeable camping lantern in the middle of the dining room table should have been a clue. So a real mixed experience when our primary need was a comfy place to sleep and shower.

Cute house on the edge of the Park

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this small cottage. It was perfect for the two of us. It backs up onto Bidwell Park which is a great place to walk and enjoy some outdoor time. The house is very clean and has everything you could possibly want for your stay, We appreciated the coffee beans and the French press. The only thing we could have asked for was a better shower head for the small shower, but it was still quite ok. We would definitly recommend this place in Chico.

Beautiful Creek

This place is exactly what it promises: available host when needed with a good sense of humor, downtown Chico very close, but the best is the access (behind the house!) to Chico Creek with walk and bike way for miles. Nice neighborhood and nice people all around! We will definitely stay here again when and if we return!

Worth It

This small home is near the park, but also near a noisy highway. The traffic did not bother us too much, but I was surprised by it. The batteries were low in the remote control for the TV, and several light bulbs were burned out. It was easy to communicate with the owner, but it would be nice for those kinds of things to be checked ahead of time. Chico is a lovely, friendly city and staying here was affordable and convenient. Even our dogs were allowed, and there is a little yard in the back.

This was our 2nd stay in this property and it once again didn’t disappoint. Charming, clean, cozy, comfortable, excellent location, close to everything including the freeway which you cannot really hear from this rental. The communication with the owner was effortless and prompt … once again, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. See ya next year and know that the 3rd time will be a charm too.
