'This cottage is located in a beautiful area with lots of hiking/ walking possibilities. kids could play nearby the river Esk or surrouding streams and forrest. The cottage also have a very nice garden with a possibility to BBQ or sit. There is nothing what we misses in this cottage, nice beds, very quiet area, really good equipped kitchen, lots of towels. 'Zeer mooi, midden in de natuur zoals je dat in Engeland verwacht, gelegen cottages. Gezellig aangekleed en van alle gemakken voorzien. Bij aankomst bloemen, taart, wijn en wat basis boodschappen. Zo word je niet overal welkom geheten. Cottage is onderdeel van Vindolanda Trust, dus je kan ook gratis naar aantal aanbevelingswaardige musea waarvan er 1 is gelegen op terrein naast het verblijf (opgraving Vindolanda). Top!'

'The property is set in a stunning setting, opposite Blencathra, in a really quiet location. Unfortunately, however, the cottage has a rodent problem. Each morning we'd find mouse droppings underneath the fridge, on window ledges and by the sink. On leaving we also discovered mice had chewed through one of our bags.'

'This is a really lovely and immaculately maintained property, and one that provides and excellent base for exploring the Lake District. 'This is a great apartment - it has a great location within 5 minutes walk of the centre of Keswick super handy access to Booths Supermarket and great views to the North looking at Skidaw and its approaches. Inside it is comfortable and has everything that you need for your stay - all kitchen and laundry is as expected and bed linen plus bath and hand towels were provided for each guest. Will absolutely stay again.'

'Lovely comfortable cottage with a fabulous view from the lounge balcony with afternoon and evening sun. No personal touch or welcome gift. Front yard full of weeds and plants blocking light into two snug windows. Would have been nice to use that space for a seat outside in the morning sunshine as the kitchen is perfectly placed through the front door. Locals lovely. Lots of pubs and shops. Great places to explore in the area.'

'The location is excellent, close to the city center. The parking opportunities are limited, fortunately unloading and loading is possible in the street of the location. The apartment is well equipped and sizable. However, the windows pf apartment 3 are facing an inner court with a venting system of a restaurant. It produces strong kitchen smells during most of the day. It should be discussed with the owner how to reduce the smells (with scrubs, perhaps).'

'Didn't actually manage to stay here and had to book alternative accommodation at short notice. Despite checking in online earlier that morning and advising of expected arrival time, I didn't receive the code for the lock box and all attempts at contacting the host failed, no response to phone calls or text messages, in fact the host declined my calls on numerous occasions. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED that this host left a solo female traveler stood outside in the rain and in the dark for over an hour...
