Beautiful and Cozy Cottage with Hot Tub close to Snæfellsnes National Park

Holt is a perfect base for your Icelandic holiday. Have a memorable day at Snæfellsjökull National Park, visit a natural hot spring like Deildartunguhver, or amazing waterfall like Hraunfossar. Other interesting places to visit are, the active volcano Grábrók, the crater Eldborg, historical viking landmark Reykholt, and taking a walk into the glacier Langjökull. You can stroll through the nearby cozy town of Borgarnes and drop by the cafe’s, museums, shops and restaurants. Take a drive to the capital Reykjavík with all its glory, nightlife and culture. Make a day trip on the Golden Circle and see the exploding Geysir with all its natural power, and drop by the historic Thingvellir National Park, and view close up the beautiful Gullfoss waterfall. In the evenings you will always come back home to this cozy cottage in Helluskógur and the first thing you might do is, relax in the hot tub and enjoy the views or the Northern Lights in the peace and quietness after a memorable day.

The lodge was built in a traditional, Icelandic summerhouse way. It is well constructed and insulated. It is warm and cozy all year round with all necessities and comfort. The house has an open kitchen-living room area. In the kitchen there is all the tableware and equipment you need for cooking, baking, and serving a lovely meal. The living room has a great corner sofa and a large flat screen TV . The bedrooms are cozy and comfortable with great quality beds. Free WIFI.

On the large terrace is a nice hot tub that fits up to 6 people, barbecue grill and comfortable outdoor seating. The terrace is perfect for serving a good meal and relax in the peaceful environment. Beside the house is a grass lawn which is surrounded by a birch forest, ideal for kids to play.

We have been connected to Borgarfjörður since childhood and would like to share good advice and information about the house or the area so don't hesitate to send us an email request about anything you would like to know and we will do our best to help you.

Perfection

This was the most amazing place to stay for a family. Not too far from town but at the same time feeling very remote. House was surrounded with trees and birds. The kids fell in love with the loft. I would say no negatives about this property, but one challenge was the locks which they describe in detail up front. I was afraid of locking us out of the house so I just kept the key in the lockbox.

Wonderful stay-we Called it our “cozy cottage”

We loved our stay at this cottage in Iceland. It was a perfect spot for our exploring to Snæfellsnes. The cottage was wonderfully equipped with everything we needed and all instructions were clear and easy to follow. We settled right in. My teenager loved the loft and having the cool windows. Iceland is a long way from home for us but we would come back in a heartbeat.

Amazing property and wonderful hosts!

Where to begin... the house was absolutely immaculate. It was nice to have a thorough information packet e-mailed to us ahead of time to prepare for our arrival. From the shoe rack by the door (to keep the floors clean throughout our stay, we took off our shoes... I think it is also customary in Iceland to take off your shoes indoors), the heated towel rack in the bathroom, the neatly made beds, the hot tub heated and all ready to go, and an efficient but cozy layout, the home was perfect for our stay. The hosts have been very thoughtful about every detail to the house. We loved seeing the Northern Lights from right outside the home - a dream come true.

Loved this house

Cabin was exactly as described. Although small by US standards, it was plenty of space for our family of 5, including 3 teenage boys. The info and communication from the hosts were excellent, including detailed directions and access instructions. Good location for access to Snaefxxxx peninsula. Especially appreciated the hot tub after a long day of sightseeing. Thanks!

Wunderbares Ferienhaus in idyllischer Lage

Unsere vierköpfige Familie hat das Ferienhaus 8 Tage lange bewohnt und es hat an nichts gefehlt. Bei der Ankunft war das Haus absolut sauber, die Ausstattung ist perfekt: Küchengeräte aller Art (sogar ein Mixer und Waffeleisen), Waschmaschine, Wäscheständer, Handtücher, Küchentücher, Duschgel, Mülltüten, Kaffee, einige Gewürze usw. Da der Whirlpool defekt war durften wir den des Nachbarhauses verwenden und bekamen außerdem noch Karten für das Hallenbad in Borgarnes. Die Lage hat uns auch sehr gut gefallen, es ist äußerst ruhig und man kann schön am Fluss spazieren gehen.

Fantastic cabin

Perfectly remote and cozy! I wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy sleeping in but the land was calling to us. Terrific house manual sent ahead of booked stay takes all the guess work out of using the property. There are adjacent properties but separated by heavy vegetation. We slept very comfortably. I could see a small family enjoying this space too. The views of the mountains are super from the big windows and on the deck.

Great location with beautiful views, the perfect home base to explore the Snæfellsnes Peninsula and the amazing Hvammsvik Hot Springs! Great communication, easy access and we loved all the amenities (washer)!!! Was everything we hoped for and more. Thank you for sharing this great space!

It was nice, but so small

Pluses Clean, great hot tub, grill, washer with fast spin for drying clothes. Great views of the sunset. Feels safe and secure. Nice check-in directions. Bedrooms super small, but the beds were comfortable. We stayed at this location as a family of 4 adults - super small - would be fine for an adult couple with children. The loft had a very low ceiling. Even on knees, ceiling height not adequate at peak for headroom. Ok for only for sleeping - except for noise (open) and light as living room had blinds missing and no black-out curtains in the rental. Bring eye masks if light wakes you up. We got a flat - road coming in - it is long and very bumpy. Overall OK stay
