Cabanes à Block Island National Wildlife Refuge

« The location is convenient for walking to the ferry, shops and restaurants, but unfortunately that was the highlight of our stay. The beach was a huge letdown, especially considering how many beautiful beaches Block Island has. It is small, rocky, unkempt with seaweed everywhere and murky water. Beach chairs were limited, dirty, old and broken—one was literally being propped up with a beach rake. One day no chairs were available at all. Staff said-oh well come back later. There was no system...

« The air conditioner in our room was extremely loud, and there was a moisture problem as well. There appeared to be a dehumidifier in our room, but it didn’t work. Also, we ran out of hot water one evening. »

« We love the 1661 for many reasons and now there is more to love. The addition of the gym and sauna as well as the expanded farm are great additions. The only suggestion I have is to use wd 40 on the doors so that when you close a door it doesn't creak and squeak. The insulation between rooms is minimal and I could hear doors closing and opening all night. »
