'All in all great value for money, with very helpful staff and very clean rooms and great amenities. I did learn something about Japanese habits, though. The “kakeyu” tub in the otherwise great bath house was out of service and I noticed that most Japanese customers did not bother washing first when they can’t use the “kakeyu”. 'This was our favorite stay in Japan! The staff were the kindest and most helpful people. The room was absolutely gorgeous and so comfortable. We stayed in the river suite (Jitoku) and the sound of the water was so peaceful. The room has an attached private shower/bath, toilet, and sink. 'The rooms r housed in old abode of century in age. the meticulous design strikes a fine balance between the past and present, adding a touch of character to the whole place. While the place has been modernised, preserving the rich heritage of the past, there r no lifts to the rooms or tv.
