'The property was recently sold and is undergoing renovations. I wish we knew that renovations were happening. The property holds promise to return to 5 star. There is clearly lots of work being done to the property. The bed was comfortable, there was someone to contact for any issues. I did contact the person listed and they were prompt in their response. The staff for the home cooked breakfast was polite, engaging and clearly loved working at Rockwood. The one true negative were...

'Nice and quiet location.'

'The room I stayed in had a terrible odor the shower had hair in it when I got there. I stayed 2 nights and on the second day I asked for towels and the front desk clerk said she would send some up I asked twice never received any. Oh and there breakfast ends at 9:00 and most of the other hotels owned by the same people are open till 10 the only thing nice about the hotel was the pool was clean and it’s close to Claytor lake'

'RENTER BEWARE, 6 LARGE DOGS ACROSS THE STREET THAT BARK ALL NIGHT AND EARLY MORNING. Hostess Ashley was terrible, waited 6 hours for answer that we had on using the garage and then her response did not include how to access the garage. We had planned a 4 night stay and after the first night with no sleep because of the dogs across the street barking from midnight to 2 am and then again at 5 am, we decided to leave . Told Ashley the problem and again did not hear back for hours from her. Asked...

'An amazing location.'

'Excellent stay!!! Wifi is spotty and phone service is nonexistent so make sure you have other means of communication already downloaded on your phone. I do have to said that we (12 cousins) did not miss our phones at all, it give us a means of connecting with the family that we hadn’t seen since Covid.'

'Our trip was wonderful, but staying at CJ and Mitch’s beautiful property made it truly unforgettable. The cabin is absolutely gorgeous, and the mountain views from the back porch are breathtaking. My dad especially loved spending time with their sweet dogs and donkeys—it became one of the highlights of our trip. We spent so much time relaxing on the porch, soaking in the peaceful scenery, and it honestly couldn’t have been any better. My dad has Alzheimer’s, and seeing him smile, laugh, and enjoy...

'House was very clean with a well appointed kitchen. Great space for a large family with room to spread out. We love being beside the beautiful creek. '

'Fantastic stay! Worked out great.'

'the owner needs to be taken off this app, he came into the house while we were staying a beat on all the doors, we had one more day but he chased us out with a baseball bat'

'The property was beautiful. Loved seeing all the cows. There is a big picture window in the living room and the view was great. The road into the property was very windy. House was very well maintained and the gas range with infrared lights was fun to use. I made omelettes. The host was very quick to respond to all questions and requests.'

'very nice'

'The room and the property were beautiful. The staff was courteous, helpful, and very pleasant to speak with. Breakfast was served at 9 am, but both mornings I had to leave early. Christy and Hudson were in the kitchen very early and had coffee, muffins, oj, and fresh fruit ready when I came downstairs. I'm definitely coming back.'
