Oak Millhouse - Beautifully restored home in Downtown Old Bend

Welcome to the Oak Millhouse! This lovely home is 1 of 2 beautifully restored homes located in the Jefferson Millhouse. This historic bungalow duplex is located just blocks to the river, downtown AND the Old Mill district. You'll love parking your car and walking all over some of the best spots in Bend. This house was upgraded down to the studs with fastidious attention to historic details in 2014. This millhouse was built by an employee the Brooks Scanlon Lumber Mill in 1920. Hickory floors, marble kitchen counters, tile bathroom with clawfoot tub, this is historic at its finest. Coming to Bend with friends? ***We've just completed adding a soundproofing layer to the shared living room and bedroom closet walls as of Dec 2026! The shared wall between these units runs along the living room, bedroom closets and bathrooms. And all portions of the shared wall has been treated with some combination of insulation, mass loaded vinyl, sound absorbing panels and tile. In the bedrooms, the shared wall contains both the bedroom closets for added separation between the units. Both closets have been treated for sound too. A white noise machine and fans are still provided so you can tailor to your exact wants.

DOWNTOWN LOCATION
An amazing location on a quiet dead-end street in the heart of Bend. Just a block or so to classic Bend favorites like Jackson's Corner and Active Culture. The beautifully renovated Miller's Landing park, with wading areas, kayak launches and the nearby surf wave, is just 2-3 blocks away. Downtown Bend and Old Mill are easily walkable for dinner downtown or a concert at the amphitheater. This is the location you want for your Bend getaway.

HEATING & COOLING
This home is heated and cooled via a wall mounted mini split system in the living room. There are several additional cadet heaters throughout so you can achieve the perfect temperature. You'll find cadets in the bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and dining areas. The gas fireplace is thermostat controlled and keeps the home cozy as well. Fans are also provided if you prefer sleeping with a bit of a breeze. All the restored windows open so you are welcome to let the cool mountain air circulate too.

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENT & BATHROOM
You'll sleep soundly in the king bedroom with ensuite bathroom. The bed features a king Casper mattress and high thread count linens. There is a wall mounted TV in the bedroom as well as a spacious closet. We also provide a white noise machine and portable fans so you can customize your sleeping experience. The ensuite bathroom is fully restored. The heritage clawfoot tub is freshly refinished and surrounded by lovely period tile work.

KITCHEN AND DINING
The beautifully reclaimed wood in the kitchen was sourced from a single Oak chinkapin fir tree. You'll find custom cabinets, marble countertops and loads of counter and cupboard space during your stay. The kitchen is magnificent for such a sweet vintage home. The dining area features easy seating for up to 4 and is just adjacent to the backyard. You are welcome to use the propane BBQ in the back yard for preparing your meals as well.

ON STREET PAID PARKING (Free on Sundays & Holidays)
On street parking is by permit only and you will need to register your vehicle during your stay. Paid parking is enforced Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., excluding Sundays and holidays. Cost is about $10/day throughout Old Bend. Please use the QR code in the home to register when you arrive. Usually, the street parking spot in front of the Oak Millhouse is available for your use.

Enjoy super fast wifi and 2 Smart TVs in the home. There is a dedicated desk and chair in the living room if you need to plug-in and get some work done.

SHARED SPACES
Feel free to relax and enjoy the shared front and back yards. The front yard is definitely shared with the local herd of deer so watch your step in grass in the mornings in case they've stopped by and left you something. The backyard is private and fully fenced, though not separated from the neighboring Millhouse unit. The Millhouse currently has 1 shared propane BBQ in the backyard. We plan to add 2nd BBQ sometime in the future.

QUIET HOURS
This home is nestled into a quiet residential neighborhood and is not appropriate for loud and late parties. City of Bend quiet hours are from 10pm to 7am and are enforced as are Bend's Good Neighbor Guidelines. Between 10pm-8am, especially when outside enjoying the decks, please keep noise levels very low and be considerate to your neighbors.
