I recently stayed at this hotel and was very disappointed with the experience. When I checked in, I was assigned room 111. As soon as I entered, the room had a very strong smell of pets — like dogs and cats. It was unpleasant and unacceptable.
I immediately went back to the front desk and explained the situation. At first, the solution offered was just to clean the room again, which I refused. Then I was told there were no other single rooms available. I asked for my money back, since I did not want to stay in that room. After speaking with the manager, they finally gave me a double-bed room at the same price, and apologized, mentioning that the original room was the one used for guests with pets.
My main issue is: if I never requested a pet-friendly room, why was I placed there in the first place? The smell was terrible, and it made my check-in experience very frustrating. Even though they resolved it by moving me to another room, this situation should never have happened. Guests deserve to be placed in clean, fresh rooms right from the beginning.
