« The host cancelled my booking the day before I was due to book in because I use a walking stick and the room was on the middle floor. When I made the booking there was no mention on the booking page about about difficulties I may have. The reason given was not enough room on the expedia page. I was also refused a refund, which I find very disappointing as it was the host who cancelled my booking, not myself. Very disappointed allround. »

« We have enjoyed a fantastic 2 night stay, the location was spot on only 2 minutes to Lake Windermere and the ferry landing point.
Colin is the perfect host, very attentive, knowledgeable of the area and looked after us well.
Breakfast was a lovely; full English in a cosy setting.
The room was fine with all amenities. It was our birthdays whilst there and Colin decorated the room, these touches are most appreciated.
Definitely recommend 10/10 »

« We loved the huge room, lovely sofas, great kitchen with microwave, fridge, kettle, crockery, cutlery, etc. The castle and grounds were beautiful, the owls adorable and the games fun. Fantastic stay - highly recommended. »

« Location was perfect right in the centre of historic Hawkshead ask about car parking at the primary school.
On Suite was very small, the vanity didn’t drain properly, the sensor light is a pain when you don’t want to wake-up your partner at night!
A common problem with all accommodation in the Uk is that only having a Duvet on the bed to hot to use and worst no top sheet, Duvets are to hot in winter because of the heating and to hot in summer with no air conditioning and with no ventilation...

« We highly recommend Vince and Shirley’s guesthouse. The room was immaculate and nicely decorated, fully equipped, great bedding.
The breakfast was very well cooked and generously served, in a pretty dining room overlooking a well kept garden.
The guest house is located 15 mn walking distance to the village Center, with an access through a lovely park with a small beach and a great view. The village has a good selection of pubs and restaurants.
