Step out of the back gate and take an easy stroll down the path (approximately a 10-15 minute walk one way) through cool towering oaks to the beach. Along the way you’ll enjoy panoramic views up and down the coast, all the way to Monterey.

Romantic sunset viewing will take your breath away! Dozens of trails crisscross the woods around the house, all leading to adventure and stunning views for hikers, mountain bikers, and runners. New Brighton Beach State Park features a roster of activities and events for kids and adults, and the new McGregor Pump Track and Skate Park is a short bike ride away.

Your Pot Belly Beach House is comfortable, spacious, and modern. It features designer upgrades, all new appliances, comfortable beds, Smart TVs in every bedroom, high speed internet, and location, location, location! Finally a VRBO that over delivered . Pics don’t do the house justice. We were in town for my daughter’s UCSC graduation and this place was the perfect location to gather with family and spend a long weekend visiting.

Good times at the Pot Belly

We loved our stay at the Pot Belly house. It was clean, nicely decorated, and comfortable. We loved the State park right outside the back gate, and the multiple comfortable spaces for our teenagers and younger children and us to all enjoy.

Beautiful!

Beautiful home. Great l location. Private yard with plenty of seating and natural plants. Beach access out the gate. Kitchen well equipped. Easy access to lots to do in the area. The only reason not 5 stars all around is the hot tub was too dirty to be used when we arrived though that was handled immediately and you have to drive somewhere else to get the keys instead of there being a lock box at the home. Everything else was perfect and we’ll be back!

Lovely vacation spot!

We were a party of 7 people (family) spending almost a week at this fantastic house. Open and social spaces inside and backyard was great for hanging out. So nice to have the park right outside, felt secluded and quiet. Everything we needed and more!! The only (minor!) downside was the short drive for check-in and check-out to the office.

Beautiful space in a beautiful setting

This property was everything we wanted and more - top quality furniture, provisions, stocked kitchen, wonderful grill, hot tub and access to woods and beach as stated. You won't be disappointed here. We didn't have any issues with odors or heat in this place, like some of the other reviews state. Thank you for a wonderful weekend of making memories. We would love to return!

Couldn't have asked for a better stay

Potbelly house was perfect for our needs with 3 Adults, 2 teenagers, and 2 younger children. Open living concept and a ton of outdoor lounge spacing. Location was perfect, we recommend Capitola beach for swimming.

We traveled with 3 adults and 4 kids to this property. Upon arriving at the house, we were impressed. It was very clean, bigger than we expected and that Backyard!! It’s so peaceful and a perfect place to relax. The location was great. We went out exploring everyday. We loved the house and hope to return to it.

Beautiful home, a few setbacks related to comfort.

Overall, the home was nice. The area was great and secluded so it allowed for a peaceful escape. The beach was also quite close and a short walk for some beach fun. Yet, there were a few aspects of the house that took away from the comfort of the trip. Kitchen: the hood fan does not work well and doesn’t have the width to cover the stovetop so whenever you sauté or sear food or cook bacon, the fire alarm goes (happened 4 times for us). There is no A/C: while it’s not listed as having it, the home gets quite stuffy and hot starting at 1. While there are fans and windows to open, if there is no wind or breeze pushing the air in and out of the house, you’ll be better off sitting outside until the sun goes down as it’s much cooler. Bed: we utilized the 3 main beds and the fold-out couch... all were very soft and not comfortable; we ended up using the couches by the last night. Bathroom flies: upon arrival, the three bathrooms had copious amounts of flies around the drains and on the ceilings; we bought bug spray but they kept coming back which made for a less-than-sanitary experience. It’s a great spot but unfortunately a few aspects related to comfort and enjoyment took away from the overall experience of the stay.

We absolutely loved this property, the property had everything you can imagine to enjoy a magical summer vacation!!! The short walk to the beach was a breeze and so relaxing!!! I will definitely be booking again!

Excellent location

Surrounded by woods and <10 min walk from the beach, the location was perfect and all we were looking for. The beach was not crowded at all with the nearby campgrounds and parking lots closed. The main reason that I'm giving this house 3 stars is the smell. It is an old house that has been remodeled. The bathrooms and kitchen are lovely, and we really enjoyed the outdoor shower. But there was a pervasive smell in the bedrooms. We aired out as much as we could, but for a few of the rooms, there really was no helping it. Everything else was great! We used the charcoal grill, the firepit, and the staff was very responsive to a few issues that we had.

Perfect for families and easy beach hiking.

This place is a spacious home with 3 bedrooms but one extra bedroom (4 total) right adjacent to master bed, with a temporary bed (fully dressed), pretty useful if you have overnight guests for instance. The beds comfort was a four out of five to me, a bit too hard of a mattress but my husband was ok with it. Also the cleanliness of the house was ok, not bad at all, just not spotless either, again a 4 out of 5 in my opinion. The kitchen is truly fully stocked (unlike in other brvos that announce themselves that way), it was easy and a pleasure to cook and serve dinners there. Lots of kitchen wear. The back yard has a fun gate to a forest which is also a state park and a camping (not in used currently due to covid). It is an easy hike to the beach, with an access through stairs and ramps on the cliff, which would be also used by camp-goers (look for the camp bathroom, access is located right there). There is an absolutely beautiful stunning hike to the neigbour town via an old railroad trail that goes by right behind the house. The RR tracks pretty much run right on the cliff and is full of vegetation...great pictures there. There are also really beautiful parks super close by, with massive redwoods for a full day hike. Overall it was good stay and I have no doubt we will consider it for future stays!

Large open family space

Great house just a few minutes walk to a quiet beach and centrally located in the Santa Cruz area . Lots of room to spread out and visit. The kitchen is well stocked and clean. We will definitely go back.
