'Cosy feeling pub. Fantastic food. Nicely furnished cosy rooms but limited plugs for phone charging etc. We were in the room at the front above the pub, quite noisy from the pub below at night could make it difficult for some to sleep. Staff were welcoming and helpful.'

'All good, nice clean room, good selection of beers and wine, decent area outside if weather permits, and a very enjoyable meal in the evening. The village itself is very quiet, but would certainly recommend if looking for an overnight stay to break up a journey north or south.'

Our friends who stayed down the street were wishing they had booked here. Be prepared to carry luggage upstairs and know the bed isn’t super big by American standards. '

'We stayed at the Kings Head last weekend and had a lovely time. The pub itself is gorgeous, decorated beautifully, it is cosy and inviting and located in a lovely spot by the stream.Although the actual car park itself was small this was no problem as we parked literally a couple of minutes away on the lane, perfect as it allowed the opportunity to see a tiny red squirrel busy in a nearby tree. 'What a magical 2 night stay! Surpassed expectations. Room was A*, clean and spacious. The castle was elegant and homely. Staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. Food was exceptional also. Would highly recommend and will certainly visit again! '
