'It was a rustic cabin, it had power, microwave, a good size fridge. Easy to get to, could park right out front. Had use of our own port-a-potty. Walking distance to the creek. Kids loved playing it in. Dog friendly. Owner was very friendly. We happen to come during out of normal hot temps… but at night still very comfortable. 'Alpine Lake Manor was a great fall retreat! The house sits on the lake, so we got a great view of the geese, ducks, & a beautiful great blue heron, along wirh the autumn color-changing leaves! The house had some great antique finds such as a hand made/sewn notebook, a wonderful vase ala Frank Lloyd Wright, and a window shutter wall hanging of the Raven by Edgar Alan Poe. 'Great getaway to the Laurel Mountains. Spotless, clean, quiet and secluded. Easy check in, location is off grid, and away from others. There was work being done on water lines near the property which impacted water pressure. This is beyond the control of the property manager, but before you book, double check to make sure that work is finished, or make the informed decision to book in spite of the friendly notice. The home was incredibly well-stocked with everything from towels and dishes to cleaning supplies, spices, and extra linens. It made settling in so easy. 'The little cottage was just what we were looking for. A couple things that we thought would be nicer was an upgrade of the bed sheets. They were very thin. It was difficult pulling out of the driveway because it’s on a sharp curve and you can’t see. Maybe if some of the shrubs/ trees could be trimmed might help. Everything else was very nice. Highly recommend!'
