'As always, hospitality is defined by the people who provide it. The hotel staff was magnificent in this regard. From the breakfast servers to the front desk, everyone was kind, helpful and wore a smile. A special mention for the cleaning staff who did an excellent job every morning. Breakfast was delicious with options such as eggs Florentine and eggs Benedict, although as a continental European i would have liked to have seen some cheeses at the buffet. 'Lovely small quiet hotel in a great area of Sheffield right next to Encliffe Park & walks into the Peak District. Friendly staff & lovely editions to the room, lovely toiletries, water & milk in the fridge & delicious homemade brownies. We got upgraded to a lovely room with a roll top bath. '

'What a great hotel. Can't say enough positive things about my experience. Room was lovely, clean, good value, great location and ambience, but the service and food were even better. I had early starts both mornings of my stay and it was not too much bother for Helen on the front desk and Paul?, the chef to open the kitchen slightly early for me. The food was wonderful and good value and Helen couldn't have been more helpful. This is what an independent hotel / restaurant should be like. Thanks...

The staff are a brilliant asset for the hotel, nothing was too much for them and they did it with a smile, sometimes in the face of adversity, I can’t praise them highly enough, my only concern is that the hotel is really in need of an upgrade, in particular the door/key system seriously needs looking at.'
