Oostkust: Strandvakanties

It was the best all inclusive resort we have stayed at. Only our second time to Punta Cana but many different all inclusive resorts in Mexico over last 20 years. We stayed in the Excellence Club section which was adult only. They have multiple pools and bars available only for adults but you could also go the other pool areas. Rafael was our butler . He made reservations for dinner in the 2 restaurants where they were needed . He would send daily times restaurants were open and the activities for the day. He checked with us daily to see if we needed anything. There was 2 areas for Club members to help themselves to snacks and drinks that was open from early morning to late evening. We spent a lot of time at club beach/pool areas . The bar at that area was great only open until 6 pm as that’s when pools were to close but they never really made you leave the pool. Ronny was awesome bartender there along with Santa and Yanirys that checked on us every time they walked past us to see if we needed anything. Our room was beautiful had a king size bed ,double sink, sitting area along with jacuzzi. Mini bars stocked with beer, water and soda along with bottles of Rum, whiskey and wine . Our favorite restaurant was The steakhouse the Tenderloin was excellent. Japanese restaurant was great they cook in front of you. The staff at the bar in lobby downstairs near restaurants were great also. Too many of them to name . Everyone of the staff we encountered said hello and how are you .

This was a tough family trip. The grounds are way too big to navigate with kids. Impossible to get into restaurants or even have our names taken to wait. Room was not cleaned for a while 24 hours. Towels never replaced, and no sheets on two of the three beds upon arrival. As well as over an hour for check in and losing an entire day at the pool by the time we got our bags.

The staff was really friendly and attentive in the restaurants and bar. It was the best thing the hotel had. The courtesy changing rooms with showers were awesome. The infrastructure of the hotel was very modern and the rooms were very comfortable. Things to improve would be the lobby checking customer service. The moment we arrived got stressed out right way. There was a mistake done my Expedia where I put my child’s age correctly and they booked it for an infant. The hotel instead of prioritizing the guess experience and correcting it without penalizing the customer they made us pay extra for our daughter. We believe this was an opportunity to excel in high customer service. But it didn’t happen. Very disappointing and frustrating going out of your budget for a mistake someone did. The customer service agent was very professional and did everything he could contacting Expedia even talking to the director at the time. But He wasn’t any help at all and said there’s nothing he can do.
