Great Plains: Skivakanties

The rooms were nice and clean. The water pressure was low. The cold water barely trickled out of the sink and shower. The pool and fitness area were nice. The fitness area had everything you needed for a good workout. The water in the indoor pool was pretty chilly 71 degrees but the hot tub was nice. The tile around the pool and hot tub was extremely slippery. My only real complaint was the parking $21.00 a night. Oh yeah, and all the homeless people around the property.

Love the location. Easy train ride from airport and one block away from Union Station. Love the whole ambience of the hotel. Nice room. Clearly somebody had smoked in the room even though it was non-smoking. I’ll deal with it – seems to be a common thread in the hotel industry. Cruise Room was excellent. Dinner at Urban Farmer was good but a few misses. Back to the room to tuck in for the night, and the TV didn’t work. Tried to use the hotel room phone to contact the front desk, it did not work. Called via my cell and went to voice mail – called back and someone finally answered and said the internet streaming services were not working but the regular TV should. Of course, neither the remote guide button nor the TV button got me anywhere – just ‘no signal’. They offered to send up engineering but because it was late I decided it could wait until tomorrow. TV fixed late in the afternoon the next day but phone was never fixed. Overall, it’s a beautiful historic hotel in a great location.

Very nice accomodation. The faucet dit not work properly and the faucet in the bathtub is running while showering. But I had spent a good night at the hotel.
