Koločep: Luxe vakanties

It was not easy to find the entrance but the room and friendly reception was super!

Very nice and clean room (Luxe Suite) with enough space, we enjoyed it a lot. Very nice view on the sea, direct access to the sea through stairs (there is no sandy beach) and there is even a spot were you can jump of a rock into the sea. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Some pools are 18 - Covid measures are not followed at all: no masks (they are worn all the time on the chin allone...), the desinfecting gel is empty all the time. Even at the restaurant/breakfast staff doesn't were their masks correct (only on the chin), everyone is using the breakfast buffet without desinfecting hands and no one cares that masks aren't worn by the hotel guests at the buffet... - The breakfast is really not good. Cheese and spreads are sweaty and not cooled enough. There was even mold in one piece of cheese we took... The eggs are not good and they swim in oil. Bacon is barely baked. The coffee machine wasn't working all the time: no coffee, no milk, no cups... Juices are industrial, not fresh. Little choice of bread and all very soft. Crowded. Little table service. - Half board (we only used one night) was disappointing, nothing like for a 5-star hotel... We had to wait really long for our dinner and in between the courses, they forgot the bread, the wine was warm... - Swimming pool area could really be cleaner. --> Very nice and clean room, nice location at the sea, friendly staff. Food disappointing. Pool area could be cleaner.

Zeer mooie, propere kamer, bijzonder mooie badkamer en leuke keuze meubilair. Onze kamer was wel op het einde van een zeer lange gang, wat wel even stappen was altijd. Zwembad proper, leuke bar. Ontbijt meer dan in orde. Avondeten buffet vonden wij ook wel prima (voor een buffet), ondanks negatieve commentaren die we op voorhand hadden gelezen. De golfkarretjes die je naar beneden en boven in Cavtat centrum brachten waren een aangename extra (want het is een serieuze klim). Kortom, niets op aan te merken aan ons verblijf.

The staff were really and lovely and helpful, from the Reception staff to the Breakfast staff they all helped and were friendly. The included breakfast was ideal and just right with a selection of meat and cheese and then a choice of warm eggs which were always cooked so well. What was disappointing was the room itself. Whilst it was generally clean there were some dusty areas and the drainage wasn’t great so kept creating a smell of sewage. For those that like the usual hotel comforts there were no drinks making facilities in the room such as a kettle - the staff did provide a pot of hot water when I asked which they were happy to do but a kettle is a basic convenience that I would expect from a hotel. The hardest thing was the shower. This was broken and did not attach to the wall so I had to hold the shower head at all times, again this just creates an inconvenience which got frustrating at times. Also the hot water was provided through a hot water tank which only provided about 5 minutes of hot water before needing to be left to heat up again and when there are two of us wanting to shower at the same time this often meant a barely warm shower for one of us! Lastly and rather worryingly, the smoke alarm/CO2 detector had been removed from the ceiling in the room and there was not one in there. Although the hotel offers free parking this is a very tight car park at the park and requires skilled driving to get in and out and very tight spaces. The pool was really lovely!

Great stay in all regards. Breakfast might not be worth 10eur but convenient
