Yorkshire et Humber : Vacances ski

Was hard to find the parking area. We had to call a number to get codes for doors. We were not greeted otherwise. Room was large and it’s obviously been recently decorated (poorly). Bathroom had numerous broken tiles, dirty floor and wet bath mat which meant that we didn’t feel comfortable using the shower. No breakfast facilities and we were woken early by the sun coming through the ripped film that had been put on windows. No view except of car park. Plus points is that the bed was comfy even though there was no mattress protector and the pub along the road was very welcoming. Would come back to area to visit family but not to this hotel. Expensive for very basic facilities.

Wonderful place to stay.

Let’s start with the positive: personnel was gracious, beds were comfortable, it’s a 1 min walk to the nearest tram station (forget cars in Manchester, take the tram!) It was acceptably clean when we arrived. The room was very basic. Small, but functional. An air extractor is really needed in the bathroom however. There is a loud on and off noise of some sort of machinery that made sleep a little difficult. The hotel is not situated in a super interesting part of town, but the 8-10 min walk to the Emirates stadium made it worthwhile for us. There is an on site steakhouse that seemed very nice, but we didn’t try it. All and all, very nice for the price range.

Friendly staff, clean hotel, excellent location (walking distance from the train station as well as from the Shambles and the Minster). Our only downfall was the construction work that was a but noisy in the morning, and the fact that the fan in the bathroom was not efficient (it would ger humid after a shower). Would recommend this hotel !

Property full of character staff are excellent very helpful and polite we had a comfort room and it was more than adequate for our needs with a large bathroom. Breakfast was super a massive range and choice from full English to toast and jam, cereals or continental a great stay and we will return

Nice charming hotel close to York city centre. Standard Rooms are small but clean and confortable. Staff is nice and helpful.
