Mauritius: Romantische vakanties

Very nice accommodation with lots of things to do in the resort itself. A lot of good food options and the breakfast is great too

Can't really tell what is the deciding factor in our judgment. Not the customer service, getting a voucher for our 2020 NON-refundable booking to use in 2021 (via Expedia) of course is excellent. Maybe the rooms: they call all of them suites, but it should be _junior_ suites at most as they are 64 square meters and single bedroom. And the price is more 5-star than 4-star... Maybe it's the staff. No matter how friendly they are, and how hard to try, the buffet restaurant is simply at high level of clumsiness - think Fawlty Towers, daily show. Swapping name plates, wrongly cooked scrambled eggs, clearing your table when you are away for a next round - all of it. And also the clumsy procedures; the 'workshop' sells excellent snacks some of them per 50 g, but lacks, yes, a balance to check the quantity! And putting a 'suggested' donation to their charity fund of 200 rupees already at the bill, and explaining afterwards. And regularly a counter assumes that you're AI not HB, as there are no wristbands or the like and they don't have access to a list. Also the overall atmosphere is very much AI-driven, which means people around you at the pool ordering way too much food and drinks and then letting a large part to go waste. Just not enough for us, but if you're into AI and okay with the hope that the staff issues are teething pains, and happy with 5 restaurants to choose from (plus 2 for extra fees): why not...

Wij hebben onwijs genoten van ons verblijf hier. Het personeel is allemaal even vriendelijk, de stranden en de zee zijn waanzinnig. Bedjes bij het zwembad en strand zijn top. Eten is ook erg goed, zowel ontbijt als diner. Wij hadden halfpension en de drankjes zijn niet goedkoop, maar dit hadden we wel verwacht. De kamer was prima. Schoon, alles wat je nodig had, maar niet overdreven luxe. De spa was ook goed. Lekkere massage gehad, wederom wel weer prijzig, maar prima. Kortom, heel fijn verblijf gehad!
