North Ari-atol: Strandvakanties

We found our second home in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Nika Island! The staff, the water villa, the island itself and it's facilities, the food, the ambience. It's all just simply perfect. They kept the essence of the Maldivian way of living, architecture and luxury without being primitive. I mean, we've seen a lot of islands that dropped a 5 star resort on a Maldivian island, but that does NOT make sense. If you want the luxury you have at home, or at a Hilton hotel, stay home. If you want to experience luxury Maldivian style, with a lot of zen and relaxed vibes, come to this place. Time will standstill. You have to take a notch down and slow things down. There are no gas powered things on this island, all electric. They filter their own water to save plastic consumption. They are very enviorement aware and try to keep everything how it should be. Excellent resort. We missed our flight and the resort amended our booking free of charge. Rooms are spotless. Staff are all very nice. Food is great and lots of variety. The island is beautiful and the beach is kept clean. This place is 100% value for money. Maybe not the most luxurious resort at Maldives but for an affordable price u can experience a water chalet stay at Maldives. Only minor point would be the hardness of the bed... But a lot of hotels have this issue. I wouldn't hesitate booking at Veligandu again next time.

Perfect destination and people are so dedicated and hard working. Everywhere you go you are welcomed with a smile. A 9/10 in my opinion with only Two things that need to be better: 1. The cocktails aren’t very nice. I tried many of them but none of them tasted like it supposed to be tasting 2. Transfers are poorly organised and take a lot of time. Upon arrival we had to wait for 2 hours for our water plane and for our return we had to leave the property by boat 7 hours before our flight. This way we pretty much lost a full day of holiday which is not okay with the prices that are being asked for the transfers. Your guests want to spend as much time as possible on the property so I suggest to increase the number of boats/planes going each day to ensure people travel comfortably and don’t have to wait at the small airport for 6 hours Apart from that everything was perfect. Best reef we saw from 6 visits we had to maldives. Service unbelievable good. Food fantastic. Best resort we ever visited
