Sotavento: Strandvakanties

Leuke accomodatie. Grote studio. Prachtig uitzicht op zee. Dichtbij strand en de gezellige haven. Goed ontbijt, niet heel uitgebreid. Aardig personeel.

You would expect that a five-star hotel offers enough comfort to avoid guests having to fight for a pool chair or wait in line for breakfast—especially when arriving 45 minutes before closing and being told to “come earlier.” As a Gold member with both Expedia and Marriott, it was disappointing that even a late check-out until 3 PM (just 3 hours extra) wasn’t possible. We weren’t asking for much—just a bit more flexibility. The rooms are outdated, and considering the size of the hotel, it’s hard to believe there wasn’t a single room available. The whole experience felt impersonal, like we were just part of a process. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you expect five-star service. The only bright spot was the pool staff—they genuinely tried to help, but there simply aren’t enough chairs for the number of guests.

The shuttlebus was super

What stands out at this hotel is the friendliness of the staff. From our first visit to the pool area, the lady who manages the breakfast area and learns every customers name within about 5 minutes, the friendly reception team, and the wonderful barman who made us a Portuguese G&T; they all go hugely above and beyond. There are clearly customers who come back here year in and year out. If I had one observation it would be that the aircon in the room needs improving and maybe a small general updating. Please don’t let that put you off though. This is a lovely hotel in a superb location run by an outstanding team. We’ve had a really special 2 night stay.

erg goed ook leuk voor kinderen niet goedkoop wel gratis parkere
