Texada Island: Strandvakanties

Ideally located for exploring downtown Vancouver

This is an ancient hotel, never refurbished. Random things are broken, the pool is ancient and has peeling paint. The hot tub is broken. The carpeting is still the original 1970s psychedelic colour. Rooms are noisy, you van hear noise from the hallway. Air-conditioning is ancient and noisy. The shower is barely attached to the wall. There are no basic amenities like glass or cutlery in the rooms. The staff is useless, the buffet is noisy and crowded, staff recycles single use items from other guests, so you'd better hope no one has any infectious diseases. Parking is expensive. The waitress in the restaurant will become angry if you select the 15% tip option. This could be the worst hotel in Canada; certainly in Vancouver.

Great location, enjoyed being in Yaletown. Easy walking access to everything. Was very clean and was equipped with everything. Nice to have all the key amenities of home. Would definitely stay at the Smithe House again.

Restaurant only available for breakfast and bar was not available during the day. So Drinks ordering only in the room Rooms were spacious and luxuary. Location in middle of shopping area and everything in walking distance

Heerlijk bed, geen mini bar, slechte service, geen mogelijkheid om room service op kamer te nuttigen, hele slechte restaurants, slecht ontbijt, badkamer prima, ramen kunnen niet open, raar tikkend geluid vanwege allerlei constructie werkzaamheden on site, geen gratis wifi, veel te weinig kastruimte om kleding op te hangen of op te bergen.

I got the comfort room which comes with a separate bathroom. The hosts were super sweet, welcoming. They provide a lot of amenities and my room and bathroom felt so clean and luxurious. Their home is in a beautiful and safe area. I truly enjoyed staying with them and would come again whenever I visit Vancouver next.
