Summary:
Gather at The Otter Lodge, a spacious, single-story Montana retreat minutes from West Yellowstone. Welcoming large groups, this hunting-themed home pairs a private pond and distant mountain views with generous gathering spaces, a full kitchen, and an indoor fireplace. Enjoy outdoor meals among towering pines, evenings around the fire pit, and the convenience of self check-in and free parking.
The Space:
Rustic wood siding, extensive stonework, and a private pond set the scene for your Montana stay. Inside, vaulted ceilings, wood-paneled walls, leather seating, log-style tables, and antler chandeliers give the lodge its distinctive outdoorsman character.
Gather in the spacious living areas beside the stone fireplace, or enjoy the natural light through large windows overlooking the grounds. Taxidermy is prominent throughout, including a wolverine, pine marten, moose and deer skulls, elk and deer shoulder mounts, and animal pelts.
Sleeping and bathing spaces include:
- A king bedroom with a log bed frame and broad windows overlooking greenery and water.
- Queen bedrooms with rustic log furniture, patterned quilts, and bedside storage.
- A larger master bathroom with a long stone countertop and glass-enclosed shower, plus another shared bathroom with a bathtub and overhead shower.
The large, fully equipped kitchen features oak cabinets, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and expansive windows. Multiple dining areas give your group places to gather over meals.
For cooking and everyday comfort, you'll have:
- An electric stove, oven, refrigerator, freezer, microwave, and dishwasher.
- A coffee maker, toaster, cookware, dishes, wine glasses, and barbecue utensils.
- Heating, ceiling and portable fans, an indoor fireplace, and a TV.
- A dedicated workspace with a table, basic Wi-Fi at approximately 4 Mbps, and an Ethernet connection; plan accordingly for video calls and large downloads.
- A free in-unit washer and dryer, and clothing storage.
- A high chair, board games, and a Pack ’n Play available upon request.
Outside, settle into the outdoor furniture, cook on the propane BBQ grill, or gather around the stone fire pit beside the pond.
Guest Access:
You'll have private access to the entire lodge and its surrounding outdoor spaces, including the private patio and backyard. A private entrance and keypad make self check-in straightforward, and free parking is available on the premises.
Other Things to Note:
- The private backyard is not fully fenced and sits beside the pond, an important consideration when planning a stay with young children.
- Although the lodge is single-story, carpeted steps lead into the sunken living room, so the interior is not entirely step-free.
Interaction with Guests:
The host will be available remotely via phone or message to assist with any needs or questions during your stay, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience. We respect your privacy and will not be present at the property during your visit. If needed, we are only 15 minutes away.
