At Almost Heaven, you will experience some of the BEST million dollar views in Ashe County! You can relax and enjoy the views on our covered deck with comfortable deck furniture. We also offer central heat/AC, 2 private bedrooms (2 master suites with queen beds and private bathrooms), HOT TUB, Wi-FiI, 4 TVs with cable, gas fireplace (seasonal), all paved easy access, Pet Friendly with a fenced in yard, gas grill, large covered decks and minutes to downtown West Jefferson, NC! You won’t find better views that these!!

Main Level: As you enter our cabin, you will find the great room with plenty of seating, stone gas fireplace (seasonal) which is wonderful to snuggle up to on those cold mountain winter days, fully stocked kitchen with a regular 12 cup coffee maker AND Keurig maker, microwave, crock pot, blender and more, and the dining room. The 2 master bedrooms with queen beds have their own En Suite private bathrooms. Great for 2 couples!

Lower Level: The lower level offers a bunk bed (twin over twin) which is perfect for the kids. There is additional seating on our large sectional and watch your favorite show on our large flat screen TV with ESPN.

Outside: You can relax or have your favorite meal on our large covered decks. After a long day of hiking or shopping, you will definitely want to relax in our soothing hot tub on the lower deck and take in the breathtaking views! Did we mention that th views are phenomenal and stunning? You will never want to come inside after spending time with Mother Nature. Your dogs (maximum of 2 under 40 pounds) can roam stress free in our large fenced yard in the back.

At "Almost Heaven", we believe that nobody should be left behind. Why leave your pet at home when you can bring them along for the adventure. Well behaved dogs weighing less than 40 pounds (maximum of 2 dogs) are welcome for a 1 time nonrefundable pet fee of $125 per dog plus tax (sorry, but no cats allowed). If booking on a 3rd party website, you will need to contact High Mountain Cabin Rentals and get management approval and to pay the pet fee.

The access roads are paved and easily accessible (4x4/AWD is highly encouraged and recommended during the winter months). This is a great location for local shopping, hiking, skiing, canoeing, fishing and exploring! "Almost Heaven" has all of the comforts of home and you’ll want to come back year after year to our cabin and Ashe County.

• There is a 2 night minimum for off peak seasons.

• 3 night minimum for holidays and the entire month of October.

**4 night minimum for the summer months...starting after Memorial Day through Labor Day.**

• 4 night minimum for the Thanksgiving holiday

• 7 night minimum for the July 4th and Christmas/New Year holidays.

Important Notes:
***The cabin is access by paved roads. However, you it may be necessary to have 4X4 vehicles with tire chains during the winter months.
***The owners use outdoor surveillance cameras to ensure that their home remains safe. No cameras monitor the inside rooms of the home.
***There is no land-line phone in this cabin. Cell phone coverage is not guaranteed. The home does have WIFI so you may be able to call using WIFI calling.
***No Smoking inside the cabin
***Minimum age requirement is 25 years old
***Check in time: 4:00 PM; Check out time: 10:00 AM

As you plan your trip to the mountains, please remember we do get rain, snow and some foggy days and occasional inconveniences which are out of our control. Winter weather in the Blue Ridge Mountains can occur from November through April. The majority of our homes are accessed by mountain roads, which will be icy in winter weather. For the safety of you and your party, please be prepared to drive in snow and ice. This means 4-wheel drive, good tires, and chains. It is your responsibility to be prepared for hazardous road conditions.

Amazing views. The cabin was homily and everything was clean and well maintained. Highly recommend staying here for anyone who wants peace and quiet yet within easy distance of many activities and places to visit and enjoy. And it’s pet friendly!!

The house was perfect. Decorated for Fall. Beautifully clean. Location amazing. Just unfortunate it was that particular weekend.we did our best to keep everything outside secure. There were a few leaks which we managed to keep off the wooden floors. In spite of no power or water for a while we managed to enjoy our short stay. We were the fortunate ones!

Amazing Views!

The views were absolutely gorgeous. Great location just a short drive to downtown West Jefferson. House was very nice and had a well equipped kitchen. Front and back porches were covered and perfect for sitting and enjoying the views and wildlife. Would certainly stay here again.

Amazing Home and more Amazing Views!!!

The online pictures do not give this cabin justice! The views are absolutely incredible and were a welcome surprise for this Florida family. The cabin was perfect for our group of 2 adults and 3 teens (12, 17 & 17). The older teens loved the downstairs TV room and us parents loved the view from the primary bedroom. The kitchen was adequately stocked and the washer and dryer was a bonus for laundering bath towels during our week long stay. The neighbors were friendly and the neighborhood quiet and full of wildlife. We saw plenty of deer and several foxes during our stay. The hot tub was perfect on chilly nights and lazy afternoons. There was a little snow leftover from the Christmas Weekend snowfall and the kids enjoyed mini snowball fights in the yard. I can definitely recommend 4 wheel drive or chains if there is a snow storm during your stay. While the paved roads to the cabin are beautiful and well maintained, the cabin is located on the crest of a mountain and would be perilous to leave or reach without 4x4 or chains. Our family fell in love with the little town of West Jefferson; visiting Main Street for shopping, Ashe County Cheese factory and store, The Log House for breakfast and Black Jack's Pub for dinner. Whole Lotta Doughnuts is a must visit also. An Ingles Grocery Store and a Wal-Mart are maybe 10 minutes from the cabin. We took afternoon trips to New River State Park, Grayson Highlands State Park and Grandfather Mountain via the Blue Ridge Parkway. Blowing Rock and Boone are about 40 minutes from the cabin. Our family enjoyed Tweetsie RR Christmas and SnowTubing at Hawksnest. Just driving the country roads and enjoying the scenery and small towns was probably our favorite time. If you are thinking about booking this home...do not hesitate! I hope your family will enjoy it as much as we did!

The property view is gorgeous. You will enjoy breathtaking sunsets with a western view from the back porch. The cabin is charming with two large rooms for entertaining up and downstairs.

The stunning views!!

This cabin was cozy and plenty spacious for 3 of us on a girls weekend trip to celebrate a wedding. The views are just stunning! We only stayed two nights and wedding events kept us busy, but we soaked in the views on our first night on the back deck. Really nice porch furniture! We were pleasantly surprised at the ease of location - paved roads and easy to access. Also close to an Ingles. It worked out very nicely to each have a bathroom to ourselves for getting ready. Again though, the views… just spectacular! Thank you for sharing your cabin!

Breathtaking views

There was no shortage of views-absolutely stunning. Our family of 6 and 2 small dogs enjoyed waking up to deer each morning, spectacular sunrises and sunsets, and an all around relaxing trip.

Gorgeous Views

The view was our favorite feature of this property and the sunsets were really gorgeous. The cabin met our needs just fine and being able to bring our dog was extremely important to us. We also enjoyed seeing all of the deer around the cabin. We would definitely book this cabin again.

Mountain View Stay Extraordinaire

The week we stayed in this West Jefferson stay for New Years was one to not forget. The views are amazing from the cabin and surrounding neighborhood, and the cabin itself was well kept and more than big enough for my family of 4 to stay. There were several activities within 30-60 minute driving distance including hiking, wineries, breweries, shopping and restaurants. I highly recommend this cabin for a group wanting to experience the mountains for an extended time.

Hike/Bike/Relax

We absolutely loved our stay in this home!! The views were amazing from the back porch and spa. I could have sat there all day. A very quiet neighborhood and very convenient to town. Loved walking downtown West Jefferson. Had great hikes near by in West Jefferson State Park , Cascade Falls and Elk Knob. We were able to take a beautiful 1 hour drive to do a bike ride on the Virginia Creeper Trail which was amazing. The home had everything we needed to stay there and cook and relax and take in the views. Very clean. Our only issue is that the sheets on one bed are worn and scratchy so we used the sheets from the other bed. Loved watching the deer, birds, bunnies , butterflies and hummingbirds as we sat enjoyed the views. We will definetly come back to stay here.

We enjoyed a relaxing stay with gorgeous sunsets on the back porch. We love seeing the hummingbirds zip by and the deer graze down below. One evening a black bear was snacking just outside the fence which was a real treat!

The cabin was beautiful, cozy and had breathtaking views of the mountains. We enjoyed sitting out on the balconies watching the sunset, and the hot tub was wonderful! Everything was pretty clean, except the beds (sheets, linens) felt dirty. That was the only small issue we had. We would consider renting this property in the future.

Amazing veiws!!

The property was just as described. The views were absolutely amazing. We spent a lot of time on the back porch just gazing at the mountains. Saw plenty of deer everyday we were there. The beds were very comfortable. The hot tub was the perfect size for a family of 4. My only complaint was that the property was not as clean as expected.

Outstanding Views From Back Deck!

The views are nothing sort of spatular. The valleys and range off the back deck are not overly developed and you can enjoy quiet nights. The deck faces East so the sun can be a bit intense when setting. However, one can then sit on the front porch. Easy drive to West Jefferson and ~ 35 minute drive to Boone and Blowing Rock. Definity plan on coming back.

This cabin was small but had all we needed for a lovely stay in West Jefferson. We enjoyed sitting on the back porch watching the hummingbirds, deer, and other wildlife as the sun set each evening.
