Ox Glen Vacation Rentals offers Asheville accessibility with mountain privacy for the perfect getaway! We are located on a thirteen-acre mountain retreat with 3 other vacation rental homes, 20 min. north of downtown Asheville, NC, and 10 min. from the charming village of Weaverville. In either town there are destination restaurants, supermarkets, and lovely shops. The Coach House is the most easily accessible home (year-around), on the property without need of a four-wheel drive vehicle. Within this very large cabin is both a downstairs and upstairs. The upstairs of this home has a private two bedroom, and 2 bath home, with large second floor porch and is (number 1564316). The downstairs of this home has two private apartments in a suite arrangement. The Creekside Unit (number I3353823) is a 2-bedroom, 1 bath home which can sleep 4 guests. There is a queen bed in the master, and two twin beds in the second bedroom. There is a welkin shower, with sink in the bathroom. This apartment is the back suite apartment just off of the driveway with no steps and is near the back garage. This unit has a patio area with dining table and a grill, near the garage. The front suite apartment (number 1653032) is a 1 br, 1 ba that sleeps 4. Master bedroom has a queen bed, and living room has a double futon. All apartments are complete with kitchens, living room, and dining room. Both suite units have a private entrance, as does the upstairs apartment. The upstairs is rented separately with capacity up to 4 guests as well. Ox Glen Coach House is a rustic cabin at the foot of a mountain and along a beautiful stream with outdoor seating areas. The Coach House has been a.vacation rental since 1996, and we are honored to have a guest book filled with excellent views of flowers, forests, mountains, and year-round bird life. Grill and eat out on your private patio or at the picnic table along-side the picturesque Ox Creek, just outside your doorstep. There is an HD-TV and free Wi-Fi in each home. The property is located within a lovely farming community, with upscale homes.
The vacation rental neighborhood shared with 3 additional vacation homes is safe and quiet with a very relaxing mountain living feel. We are 2.2 miles off the Blue Ridge Parkway to continue your scenic touring and hiking. Take a bicycle ride along the most popular touring section of the Parkway to Craggy Gardens or Mount Pisgah. The Parkway destination visitor center is just a 10-minute drive, where you can learn any tourist information about the Parkway you desire. You will be within 2 miles of the popular Mountains-to-sea trail along the parkway, or hike through our laurel groves and hardwood mountains on more than 6.5 acres of private trails. Within a short driving distance is the challenging and very affordable Asheville or Black Mountain municipal golf courses or the challenging Reems Creek Golf Course, just a 10’-minute drive away. There are year-round activities such as skiing Wolf Laurel, 30 minutes north. Visit Asheville’s grand Biltmore Estate, shop the many antique shops in the area. or just relax in your beautifully appointed lodging on your own private deck. This home is truly a mountain retreat we are confident you will fully enjoy and be thankful you chose.

• Each unit has a large 400 square foot private deck with grill. The decks are gated to keep pets from wondering away. You will find the area a great place to walk your dogs.
• The Blue Ridge Parkway is a short bicycle ride or a 2-mile hike away along the scenic Ox Creek Road.
• Appalachian Mountains and scenic fields are visible through filtered forest cover from the house.
• This is a mountain home located at the foot of a mountain grade. Neither home in this duplex is considered accessible by wheel chairs and is not recommended for people who can not easily walk up steps. The main level has 4 steps and the upper level has 12 steps.

Area Activities: Local Information Provided Hiking: The Blue Ridge Parkway features over 300 miles of hiking trails, some of which are a short driving distance.
• Picnicing/Group Picnic Shelter: The beautiful Craggy Gardens picnic area is within a 20 minute drive along the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway.
• Tour Bicycling: World class bicycling along Blue Ridge Parkway or along country roads surrounding the property.
• Mountain Bicycling: There are country roads within the area, or several national forest areas with approved mountain bicycling within short driving distance.
• The Blue Ridge Parkway: Is a National Park, is 469 miles long and is considered one of America’s most scenic drives for bicycling, motorcycling, or touring.
• Swimming: The areas in Ox Creek or Reems Creek are great places to cool off just as the locals do. Other area streams and lakes are great places to swim. There are community swimming pools in Asheville.
• Rafting/Kayaking: There are several whitewater adventures with guided tours or self-guided outings.
• Wildlife Viewing: North Carolina Nature Center is within a 15-minute drive. You may see wildlife of many type including bear, deer, turkey, fox and others within the surrounding countryside or along Blue Ridge Parkway
