Summary:

The Blue Ridge offers a unique experience nestled within a shipping container home. This extraordinary accommodation offers guests an unforgettable stay. From the moment you step inside, you'll be greeted by an inviting living area, complete with a fully equipped kitchenette. The bedroom offers a serene retreat with a plush queen bed. The bathroom features modern fixtures and a luxurious shower. Outside, a private patio beckons you as well as the hot tub to unwind!



The Space:

This unique home started as a 40' shipping container. Our build company, CargoHome, insulates and panels the interior in pine shiplap and trim it out in 100 year-old barn wood. The outside is clad with cedar siding, spaced to allow the original container to still be seen. The fun rooftop deck is surrounded by a custom cable railing system and lit with LED lights that gives the deck a beautiful glow at night. LED lights inside and a super-quiet, efficient mini-split AC unit makes this a comfortable, energy efficient space.



The Neighborhood:

Great, safe neighborhood in the country just north of Waco. 5 minutes off I-35 and 3 minutes from Cafe Homestead and Homestead Craft Village. Only 8 minutes from the Waco airport.



Getting Around:

You can park right at the house and Uber is available.



Other Things to Note:

Hot Tub Instructions:

- Guests must shower before entering the hot tub to rinse off any lotion, sunscreen, oil, lake water, dirt, sand, etc. that will affect the balance of the spa water and filter. .



- Guests must refrain from urinating in the hot tub or permitting swim diapers.



- Guest are asked to avoid using glass and glass bottles around the hot tub.



- Guest are asked to NOT add any bath product to the hot tub such as soap, bubbles, bath bombs, etc. Excessive cleaning to remove such items and replace the filter will result in loss of the refundable deposit.

Not romantic

The inside of it was clean and tastefully decorated. The dishes need to be replaced with something nice. There are no steak knives. We found a small grill in back of the house and used it to cook steak. The hot tub is not private as it is out in the open for all the others to watch you. While in the hot tub kids kept coming by staring at us. Not very romantic.

Neat place, definitely a different experience, hot tub was small and wasn’t heating right, there wasn’t a sign describing how the corduroy bed worked, so our guest had to sleep on the uncomfortable couch, but overall a really neat place

Overall we enjoyed out stay at the Blue Ridge Container. Pro: Hot tub did work Bed was comfortable Bathroom was a good size for a shipping container Complimentary toiletries 10 minutes to Waco Nice size kitchenette for shipping container Cons: You have to realize you're staying on a working farm and they have a roaster that goers off about 5am and keeps going off in the morning. The community propane grill doesn't work and looks like animals are living inside of it. The hot plate in the kitchenette doesn't get boiling hot and makes it hard to cook if you need water to boil. They have a Keruig, but no electric hot water kettle? Some of the cups and plates are chipped and broken.

Amazing - fun and nice!

Our family of 4 stayed here and really really enjoyed it. Very nice inside, loved the rooftop patio, the owners think of anything and everything that visitors might enjoy and/or need… just an awesome stay. Kids are begging to come back and stay in another one of the homes. Highly recommend.

Fun little mini house and container house village. Would be great for groups of families to share the property. Space was tight but that comes with the character of the container house. Otherwise it was well built and luxurious. Owners kept track of us through out the stay making sure our needs wer met.

We LOVED our stay at your tiny community. We had no complaints what so ever about our accommodations. Very clean and pleasant. The grounds however were lacking in attention. The grass was quite high - which was understandable since it had recently rained. It did look like it hadn’t been mowed for over a month. There were several dead trees on the property too. The views and atmosphere on the roof top decks were outstanding but would have been so much nicer if the grounds had been attended to. In spite of all that, we would still stay there again.

Cool little spot

My wife was coming into town for a one day job, so we decided to extend and make a fun weekend out of it. I booked the konex box house as a surprise, and my wife couldn’t have been happier with the accommodations. The rooftop deck was really nice and peaceful. Check in was easy and communication was great!

Great break from every day

We loved staying here! The kids (10 and 14) thought it was the coolest place to stay. We were there to visit family and explore Waco but wanted to stay away from stuffy hotels and the heart of town. We booked the container home in homes it would be much like our RV but not having to haul it down this worked out great! We had perfect weather, kids loved the sitting area on top of the container, the fire pit in the evenings, and it was fairly quiet and like being on a camping trip but with nicer accommodations. Communication with property owners was fantastic and overall this place made the long weekend experience with the kids that much better and more memorable for them. Can’t thank the owners enough for allowing us to stay and enjoy the beautiful property. We will be back.

Property cozy but in disrepair

Those property has so much potential but it has clearly not been kept up well. Most of the issue as you will see below is the flooring and cleanliness. It should also be noted that the below is the information I sent to the owner after our stay when they asked for feedback and I received not response. With some TLC this property would be incredible. - The biggest thing was the flooring throughout the house. It was in terrible shape. We did not feel comfortable walking around barefoot as we were afraid of the many peeling and broken parts as well as nails sticking up. We also tripped on several occasions because of the condition. There were also quite a few gaps in the floor in the bathroom and the hallway area. - The shower was also a concern. The door gasket was broken so water got out of the shower when in use. The door also didn't stay closed. The other issue with the shower was the floor. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while and had discoloring and slipperiness that is characteristic of mildew. There was also a hairball from a previous guest. - The last thing which was minor compared to the other items was that there was supposed to be live TV access through Hulu, but when we tried to use the Hulu app on the TV to watch TV it said there were too many logins and the device was not on the home wifi. There were some great things that prevented a 1 star and those were the location and how cozy the space felt. I really hope they fix those issuess and start responding to feedback.

Tiny House With All the Necessities!

I wish that we would have had more time to enjoy it (arrived later than we had originally planned). Arrangement was very need. Enjoyed the quietness and the views of the pasture and old barn. We did have some difficulty finding the entrance but all worked out. 1st time we stayed in a Tiny House and this did not disappoint. Especially how the hot water didn't give out!

Magnolia getaway

My husband and I rented "The Blue Ridge". It was decorated so cute and was so cozy. It was only a short drive to Waco and to the Magnolia "complex". It's tucked into a little neighborhood of other small containers homes, each one different...and this furthers the charm. Our one regret is that is was cold and rainy during our stay, and we wasn't able to sit on the roof deck and watch the stars. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay, it certainly beats a hotel room.

Adorable place!

This is such an adorable house, that had everything we needed for our short trip. The deck was beautiful and very peaceful for sitting out in the evening. The owners and property manager are great with communication, and we knew if we needed anything they would take care of it! We would definitely stay again.
