Positioned in the romantic valley of the Tamega River, Casa da Toje is a beautiful 17th century manor house. Restored in 1979, it has retained its former glory. It is just kilometers from Cabeceiras de Basto, which is known for its Baroque Mosteiro de Refojos, with its splendid dome (108 ft) surrounded by the statues of the Apostles, and surmounted by the statue of the archangel Michael. In the surrounding area there are many hiking opportunities and fascinating villages to visit. Casa da Toje has seven bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. There are also four apartments with bedroom, kitchen and bath, which accommodate two each. Other amenities include a wonderful garden, indoor swimming pool, wine tasting, horseback riding, sauna, bicycles, a nearby river beach, as well as hunting and fishing. Breakfast is included in the price and Casa da Toje can also be rented by the room or apartment (see prices in charges below). A true vacation!Casa da Toje has the capacity to accommodate 22 guests. There are three double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and four twin bedrooms, also with ensuite bathrooms. There are also four independent apartments for two people, each offering a kitchen and bathroom. These apartments and rooms may be rented individually or, for larger groups, guests may want several rooms.
