This charming gite has been fully renovated. You will be delighted by the landscape and charm of this place. Le Meynicot is an authentic traditional farm offering all the comforts. It is ideally located in the heart of Périgord. Inside, it has been completely renovated combining charm and comfort. The property consists of a main building with 3 bedrooms, a dining room, a lounge with fireplace, a desk, a modern kitchen, and a bathroom. There is also an annexe with a living room, a large bedroom, a bathroom, and a toilet. It is on the top of a calm and isolated hill. Tranquillity and rest are guaranteed. The property is located on a 3000-sq.m park with an unobstructed view of the grassland and the woods. There is a private heated pool, a shaded terrace,2 garden seating areas, a stone barbecue, a hammock, swings, a ping pong table, a badminton court, and a lit up boules court. There is an amusement park nearby. In the surrounding areas, there are many cultural tours available, such as the Lascaux Caves, the prehistoric museums, trips in gabarre boats on the Dordogne River, and canoeing. You can also visit the wine-producing properties and the markets with mushrooms, foie gras, and truffles. The holidaymakers that visit Le Meynicot come looking for the calm and quality of life it offers. Ideal for 2 families with children, the dependency offers certain privacy, and the gated pool, as well as the complete absence of cars, makes the place safe for children of all ages. Adolescents will not get bored with the heated pool, the Ping-Pong table, or the badminton court. Adults will definitely enjoy the boules court, lit up at night, or the siestas in the hammock under the shade of a large oak tree. There are many possibilities to hike in the forest, starting from the house. For those who love mountain biking, there are many waymarked paths, and those who love cycling will find many quiet, but hilly routes starting from Le Meynicot. We will be in charge of welcoming our holidaymakers to make them know our place and give them advice about cultural activities, leisure activities, and the gastronomy of our region. You will also recommend some local products such as foie gras and other specialities of Périgord, as well as many gourmet restaurants according to your expectations.

Super séjour. La maison est parfaite pour accueillir deux familles et leurs enfants. Les espaces sont grands et bien aménagés. Les extérieurs (jardin, piscine, jacuzzi, terrain de pétanque…) sont très agréables et nous ont permis de passer une majorité de nos vacances dehors. Charming house in lovely setting

The house is full of charm and character, a beautifully renovated farmhouse with lots of space and comfort. We really enjoyed the lovely pool and hot tub, and the boules court! It was a pleasure to cook in the kitchen and to enjoy meals both indoors and outside. Paul and Virginie were very helpful and kind, especially when we had to deal with some unexpected car trouble. We would be delighted to stay there again.

A wonderful place for a family of all ages

We, two grandparents, were together with two of our daughters and their children, age 4 and 5. It was a perfect house for this: there is lots of room for the little ones to play (like a nice play-attic), it is safe (it is the last house on a quiet road) and private, and everyone loved the pool and the jacuzzi, which are both well maintained. We love to come back.

Un havre de paix

Quel bonheur de se retrouver tous en famille dans un lieu tel que celui-là! Loin du monde, loin du bruit, en pleine nature, mais juste assez près des commerces… dans une région magnifique. La configuration des lieux, en 2 habitations plus ou moins indépendantes, nous ont permis d’emmener 2 petits-enfants dans qu’ils ne gênent personne. Et, cerise sur le gâteau, nous avons pu apprécier la gentillesse et la disponibilité de notre hôte… Une expérience à conseiller absolument!

La campagne comme on l’aime!

Excellent séjour dans cette belle maison, parfaitement au calme. Les deux bâtiments indépendants permettent à deux familles d’être à l’aise et autonomes, tout en se retrouvant sur la terrasse, ou au bord de la piscine chauffée (et tres propre). Paul est tres sympathique et serviable. Pour ne rien gâcher, la région regorge de richesses, notamment au niveau de la gastronomie. Je recommande!!

Un gîte d'exception

Un gîte formidable, un hôte aux petits soins. Malgré une météo maussade, nous avons pu profiter de la piscine agréablement chauffée, ainsi que du jacuzzi. Quelques petites péripéties liées d'une part à la météo et d'autre part au fonctionnement du jacuzzi, très rapidement résolues par notre hôte, qui se trouve être d'une réactivité exceptionnelle. Le seul petit bémol est le confort de la literie qui se trouve dans la dépendance. Le cadre est parfait pour une déconnexion totale.

un peu deçus à l'arrivée car indiqué sur l'annonce 5ch et 5 salles de bains . or il n'y a que 3s.de bains, la maison trés fraiche mais sommes nous les premiers locataires de la saison,? la piscine agréable en température n'est pas aisée à pratiquer(franchir) pour des soixantenaires,une échelle escamotable pourrait etre utile (il manque au moins 2 marches) pour nous l'essentiel etait que nous soyons ensemble en famille et votre région regorge de merveilles donc nous avons passé un bon séjour

Fantastic!

We had an amazing week in a fantastic location. We were here during the first week of May, so we took a gamble on the weather, but we were lucky! It was very sunny, and the temperatures were good, allowing us to spend a lot of time outdoors. The pool also needed to be woken up from its winter slumber, but by the end of the week, the water was pleasantly warm. The house is beautiful, spacious, and equipped with all the necessary amenities. It also stays cool inside, which meant that some evenings, we found it a bit chilly, and preferred to sit outside (although there is an option to heat the house, we didn't find it necessary). I can imagine that during the summer months, it would be lovely to be inside! The location is the biggest plus of this property. What a peaceful and private spot it is! Furthermore, there is plenty of sun and shade, catering to everyone's preferences. There are plenty of activities to do in the surrounding area. We visited a cave (a 20-minute drive away), went climbing in a park (a 5-minute drive away), went canoeing on the Dordogne River (a 25-minute drive away), and visited several beautiful villages. And last but not least, Paul is an excellent host who does everything he can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

Perfect house for a group of friends

This villa is just perfect. Great pool, super nice jacuzzi and the inside was great as well. Enough shade around the pool and the villa itself is also in the shade, therefore the villa remains cool even when the outside temperature is above 30 degrees celcius. Besides this Vergt is a nice little village with a good boulangerie and a good spar supermarket.

Lovely and perfect holiday house

We stayed here for 2 weeks with our family with 5 teenagers and had a great holiday. What a great place this is old Périgordian farmhouse. The swimming pool and Jacuzzi are a real treat. The main house and side house are very spacious and comfortable. The owner Paul and his wife have managed to create a feeling like being home - so warmly decorated and well equipped is this house. The house is located at the end of a long and winding small road, which gives complete privacy. The garden is spacious with many trees so there is always a place in the shade or play a game of badminton, soccer or even a jeu-de-boule game on the dedicated track. Sanitary like toilets, showers etc are all modern and well maintained. Kitchen has all the kitchenware you might need. The owner Paul is very helpful, and reacts rapidly if you have a question. His drive to make this the perfect place and make sure everything is okay is very sincere. The village of Vergt is a few minutes drive by car, and has a local supermarket (Intermarché and Spar), a couple of bakery shops, a tabac/café, 3 pharmacies and a butcher. In the neighborhood you find the towns of Périgueux (20 km) and Bergerac (35 km), some restaurants (mostly French style), and sportsactivities like kayaking, adventure tree park, and karting within 20-30 minutes. This is the best house we have ever rented (so far) - really recommended. Thanks Paul for giving us such a wonderful time in your house.

Magnifique!!!

This idyllic cottage resting on top of one of the rolling hills adorning the area of Vergt has so many plusses we're a tad stuck as to where to start. The wildlife here is rich in diversity and taking the meandering country road leading to the cottage, it doesn’t take long to spot a bird of prey perched on the branch of a tree or a lizard or vole scoot quickly across the road in front of you. The cows quietly graze in the adjoining fields and one feels completely at peace. The cottage has a cozy, rustic look and feel, both inside and out and is spacious and cool inside. A large fireplace dominates the living room and the interior is tastefully decorated and clean. The quaint kitchen whilst compact has everything you can think of and all is easy to find. The four beautifully decorated bedrooms are all very spacious with comfortable beds. There are two modern bathrooms and two separate toilets. The Wi-Fi is perfect for internet browsing. The pool is larger than the photos portray, it was heated to an agreeable temperature and was very clean. My daughter was rarely out of the pool and for her it was the highlight of the vacation. There is plenty more to keep entertained, if it’s playing table tennis or Pétanque that takes your fancy, or simply lazing around in the hammock under a large tree in the spacious garden, then this is the perfect place for you. At night standing near the pool and looking back at the beautifully lit house, one can really appreciate its beauty and that of its surroundings. The crickets and frogs chirp, and birds sing throughout the evening. If you close your eyes for a minute, you can almost imagine you’re in the Amazon rainforest. The house is exceptionally secluded, and the view from the front of the house is spectacular. The local village of Vergt has a large supermarket and other amenities and is only a short five minute drive from the property. Vergt is within easy reach of places such as Les Eyzies-de-Tayac-Sireuil (30 mins), Rouffignac Cave (30 mins), and La Roque-Gageac (50 mins). We very much loved every minute staying at this gorgeous cottage and would dearly love to go back again. The owner Paul spoke perfect English and was extremely cheerful, friendly and helpful. Every whim was satisfied, he kindly brought us croissants as we’d had a little more rain (unprecedented over the last 20 years) than we’d hoped for. Despite that, we all had a thoroughly magical time and can’t wait to do it all again.

Détente assuré entre amis

Maison idéal pour se retrouver entre amis. La maison était très propre avec tout les équipements nécessaires. La piscine et le jaccuzi était à température idéal pour un mois de Mai. C’est sans hésitation que nous reviendrons pour un week-end détente.

Beautiful setting. Swimming pool and hot tub were excellent, especially for children. Inside the house had a slightly "tired" look and feel but outside was spectacular and we were lucky to have good weather all week. Kitchen could be larger given the number accommodated in the property. Host was very helpful, especially when the dishwasher stopped working - he replaced it within 24 hours! Biggest problem was the flies but that may just be the time of year/weather conditions. Overall a great property for a family holiday.

Charme et confort au calme

Cette location se situe au calme dans la campagne à moins de 2 km de Vergt où l’on trouve les commerces du quotidien. Cette jolie fermette très bien restaurée a beaucoup de charme. Elle est aussi très confortable et fraîche en été. La terrasse, la grande piscine très bien entretenue ont enchanté notre séjour ! L’accueil des hôtes a été parfait de bout en bout. C’est un endroit où nous reviendrons à coup sûr !

Family holiday

The property was lovely and we all enjoyed our stay very much. The location was perfect, the pool was great and the hot tub a great additional luxury. We were a bit taken aback by the surprise €320 bill at the end for heating the pool, having bedding and a cleaning bill. It begs the question what the weekly rent was for?! These additional costs should be made much more transparent as this is not an insignificant surcharge.

Just perfect

We spent the majority of our holiday outside, it’s a great outdoor area. Well worth heating the pool. The boules court is a great activity for us adults too and we even started up a league. 4 very comfy double beds and we all slept well. The best thing about this home is it keeps it’s cool during the day and night so you don’t have to worry about a hot nights sleep. Paul was great at keeping us informed and guiding us through the booking process. We made use of the houses utilities, the washing machine and extras fridge came in very handy. The village a mere 3 minutes drive is one of the friendliest villages in France we have been too, 2 very good resturants who are more than accommodating. Fantastic area it was completely quiet during our stay. Only at night can you hear the wildlife as two ponds are close by so it’s great to watch, we saw wild pigs, deer, hares and bats. 10/10

qualité de l'accueil, organisation de la disposition des volumes ( 2 bâtiments indépendants), équipements et aménagement intérieur parfaits pour chacun puisse se reposer ou profiter d'une vie de famille ( grand terrain, piscine, jaccuzi, pingpong, pétanque etc...), grande disponibilité du propriétaire.
