'Would rather sleep anywhere else, felt unsafe and dirty.'

'When I visited, the Inn was under construction. Obviously, this isn't ideal, and I wouldn't normally let this sour my view of a location. However, the Inn's construction was not all being done during normal business hours, which ended up being very disruptive. First, there were several mornings I was awoken first thing due to construction including a jackhammer being used out my door at 7am one morning. Second there were several nights that construction was happening until 10 or later at night....

'It looked like a fairly new property, unfortunately it seems like they’re not maintaining to keep that fresh and new look, and that was the good part. The customer service was appallingly bad. Check in time was supposed to be 3:00pm, we arrived at 5:00pm yet are room still wasn’t ready, the front desk clerk kept telling us how they’re housekeeping is short staffed. (Not our problem) He told us that it would be ready by 5:30, that’s two and half hours after their 3:00pm check in time. He offered...

'All good except the woman at the front desk when we were leaving. She refused to even acknowledge us. She just glared. Strange.'

'This is my second stay at Art and Lodging South Bend. It is five stars across the board. Conveniently located near downtown. Convenient to Mishawaka and the Lake Michigan beach resort towns. The home has tons of character, is well maintained, clean, and beautiful. The beds are great. There’s nothing not to like.'

'Quiet location near Notre Dame and highway. Friendly staff and excellent breakfast. Comfortable bed and pillow. Stay one night perfectly. The swimming pool is very small though. Parking is plenty.'

'The rooms were sufficient, nothing spectacular but they got the job done. The front desk answered all the questions we had, Check in and check out were easy. The buffet breakfast had hot eggs, potatoes, sausage, pancake maker, cereals, some type of sweet roll, oatmeal, juices, and coffee. It was a great location for the golf courses we were playing and restaurants we wanted to try.'

'Rooms needed to be cleaned better. They did not have extra blankets. Had to go to front desk because they did not have the sheets for the pull out couch in the room. Walls were falling apart.'

'The mansion is a beautiful, historic treasure. The bed was very comfortable, the breakfast plentiful and tasty, and the amenities were very nice. The proprietor generously shared her time talking about the history, the community, etc. Highly recommend for those who enjoy indulging in history and beauty during their stay.'
