The Unexpected · 350 m², heated pool, Vannes' Old Town within walking distance

On the port of Vannes, there is nothing to suggest it. Push open the gate: a 350 m² architect's house, its enclosed terrace and its first-floor swimming pool, invisible from the street. "The house keeps revealing itself as you enter," writes a traveller.

7 bedrooms, 6 en-suite bathrooms, 15 beds: each one has its own space, large rooms to get together, and the swimming pool heated to 27° (May-September) on its terrace sheltered from the wind and prying eyes, sunny at swimming times.

Everything is done on foot: the old town and the Porte Saint-Vincent a few minutes away by the quays, the market just behind, the restaurants of the port opposite, and the path that runs towards Conleau and the Gulf of Morbihan.

PARKING

A large private courtyard at the entrance of the house (1 to 2 cars) and 2 free parking lots just a few minutes walk away.

ARRIVAL & WELCOME

We welcome you ourselves on your arrival (Agnès or Stéphane, or a trusted person), the time to show you around the house and share our good addresses. On request, we can put you in touch with a cook for your large tables. Arrival from 4pm, departure before 10am. Vannes TGV station (Paris at 2h30): 5 minutes by taxi, a quarter of an hour by bus, or less than half an hour on foot along the platforms.

EVERYTHING ON FOOT

The house is on the port of Vannes. Following the quays, you are in a few minutes at the Porte Saint-Vincent and Place Gambetta, the entrance to the old town; through the gate, you are at the market (Wednesday and Saturday morning, voted the most beautiful market in Brittany in 2022) and in the medieval streets, their restaurants and shops. The tourist office is just opposite the house, on the other side of the canal. Mini-market 200 m away, Monoprix 600 m away: even shopping is done on foot.

TO THE GULF

The path that passes in front of the house runs along the port: on one side the old town, on the other the shaded promenade of the Rabine then, past the bridge, Conleau, its beach and its seawater swimming pool (12 minutes by bike, 9 minutes by car, or a beautiful walk of about fifty minutes). The pier of the Gulf Islands is 5 minutes away by car or by bike (20 minutes on foot): Île-aux-Moines, Île d'Arz... a different island every day.

ARRIVAL

Arrival from 4 pm, departure before 10 am. Vannes TGV station (Paris at 2h30): 5 minutes by taxi, a quarter of an hour by bus, or less than half an hour on foot along the platforms.

OFF-SEASON

The house is particularly suitable for the end of year celebrations: the fireplace, the large tables, and the illuminated old town just a few minutes' walk away. Families come back to celebrate New Year's Eve from one year to the next.

GOOD TO KNOW

We do not welcome pets, to allow allergy sufferers to have a good stay.
All the rooms are upstairs: we regret it, the house is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
The sleeping area on the top level is open, without a door.
