Set off for a stroll at the beautiful 18th-century landscaped gardens at the National Trust’s Sheffield Park (3 miles). Alternatively, head to the Bluebell Railway (6.5 miles) to take a trip through the Sussex countryside on one of the UK’s best-preserved vintage railways. If you’re a Winnie the Pooh fan, a visit to Ashdown Forest (6.5 miles) is a must, as it’s the magical landscape that inspired A.A. Milne’s beloved children’s stories. Or head into Lewes (10 miles) to discover its medieval castle, historic High Street and Anne of Cleves House Museum.


From your private parking area (there’s room for one car), step inside, and you’ll find a smart kitchen packed with everything you need to cook up a romantic dinner. Climb the stairs to the first floor, and you’ll discover a bright and cheerful open-plan lounge/diner with sloped ceilings and natural light streaming through the skylights. When it’s time to eat, whip up some dinner in the kitchen and then share a romantic meal at the dining table in the dining area. Afterwards, cuddle up on the sofa to catch up on your favourite TV shows together. There is also a desk area, if you need to catch up on emails during your stay.
