Beautiful Cottage on the Water of Pristine West Bay

100 feet of private beach in a quiet and exclusive neighborhood area. Wake up to spectacular sunrises. Look out towards Power Island(Once owned by Henry Ford). At night, look out over the water to see the lights of Traverse City in the distance.

This fully furnished newly remodeled cottage with large windows for your unobstructed greater than 180 degree panoramic water views. For even better views we recently installed all glass railings on the deck. Other recent upgrades include new deck furniture and full house air conditioning. You are only 50 feet from the water (10 steps down). Every room has a view of the water. The kitchen is open to the living room which allows exceptional views as well.

The cottage is immaculate. Our renter customer feedback surveys in the last few years have rated 'cleanliness' as 'outstanding' by 100% of our renters, 'location' as outstanding by 90% of our renters. In addition, 100% of our renters indicated 'our web-site description was accurate' and 100% said that 'they would consider coming back and renting from us again'.

Each bedroom has a queen bed and the living room has a double size futon and an extra couch. WiFI is included.

The cottage is 6 miles south of Suttons Bay and 8 miles north of Traverse City. This cottage is located on a small side street away from any main road. A convenience store is less than a 5 minute walk. Perfectly located for the many activities of Traverse City and Leelanau County. Enjoy the beach, swim, boat, water ski, fish. A public boat launch is less than 1 mile away. Enjoy wine tasting at the many wineries only minutes away.

Several golf courses are nearby, one is located less than 10 minutes away. If you prefer live entertainment and gaming, the Leelanau Sands is a 12 minute drive away. The paved Leelanau trail (15 miles long) is great for hiking and biking is 1 1/2 miles away. The Vasa trail is a 25 minute ride away. Great Dining and shopping is also just minutes away.

Enjoy the many fall and winter activities. Fall activities include color tours, golf, or wine tasting at the numerous nearby wineries. Winter activities such as downhill and cross country skiing, snowboarding, sledding and tubing, snowmobiling are all nearby.

It’s all about the views!

Amazing views! Morning sun, with glorious sunrises over the West Bay. Comfortable, clean, great location. Bring your own towels and sheets required. May not be suitable to those with sensitive respiratory issues, musty odor noticeable, especially when windows are closed.

Best moon views on the bay!

We loved our time here. The cottage was very clean and well maintained. Thoughtful little touches that were so welcoming. There was a basket of snacks when we walked in, the fridge had a pitcher of filtered water and there was ice in the freezer. A fresh sponge in the kitchen and new bar of soap in the bathroom. The kitchen is tight if you have more than one person in there but it was definitely well stocked, even with small appliances. There was a listing of places to eat, shop and see while we were in the area. I have vacationed in this area all my life and this cottage had THE BEST views of the moon I've ever seen. We were graced with bright beautiful views almost every night.

Wonderful Week on the West Bay

My Wife and I had a wonderful week at Duane and Vicki’s place. To start with, the location and views were fantastic with it sitting right on the water of the West Bay. We spent a lot of time sitting on the deck taking in the views. The guest house was very comfortable and stocked with all the needed basics. Duane and Vicki were very gracious hosts, and you can tell they care very much about their guest’s experience. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

Fourth of July Week

Duane and Vicki were reachable, responsive and friendly hosts with a nice property. The cottage was very clean and well-kept. Nothing appeared worn or stained or outdated. Cottage had a fresh and vacation-y feel to it. Photos are accurate, however, it seems like the waterfront may have eroded some since pictures were taken, as there wasn’t enough room to use the fire pit as we would have liked during our week - too near the water’s edge to fit chairs. Overall this was a good value and a pleasant stay.

Perfect Guesthouse!

My husband and I could NOT have enjoyed our stay more! Duane and Vicki were amazing hosts and the location and amenities were spectacular! It was exactly the view we were hoping for and so much more! The deck was perfect for relaxing and the cottage had everything we needed to be comfortable and relaxed. Can’t wait to go back.

Quit & Private Cottage on West Bay

This West Traverse Bay Cottage was excellent. It is nestled between several full time residential homes. It is very quiet and private, and perfect for a couple (or 2) with the 2 bedroom and 1 bath layout. There is ample living space inside. The kitchen has a lot of cabinet space to store groceries etc. The owners have made several very nice upgrades - AC/Heat mini-split in the main living area, new stove, new clear plexiglass on the deck. The grill was very clean and started first time. And the location is very convenient to get to Suttons Bay or Traverse City + the Shady Lane Market is a short walk. Would reco!

Mother/Daughter Trip

Cannot stress enough what a fantastic experience we had. Let’s start with the view, which could be seen throughout the house. Even when preparing meals in the kitchen. So clean. Sitting on the deck overlooking the lake at all times of the day or night was priceless. My daughter and I both slept beautifully on the beds. Our host was extremely helpful and friendly. Always making improvements to an already perfect place. Asked questions to make sure we were happy with everything. Short trip either way to Suttons Bay or Traverse City, each loaded with cute shops and wonderful dining. The whole area is absolutely beautiful. My daughter and I both agree we’d love to return. What a memorable time we had. We were so sad to leave. Thanks so much to the Amatos!!

Amazing location

When we arrived the property owner had a nice welcome basket for us. We had great weather for the week, the location was amazing, nice and quiet like we prefer, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely be back!

Clean, comfortable, amazing view!

This property is perfect! It is clean, comfortable and has a perfect view of the lake. Waking up each morning and having a cup of tea was perfect. The owners are also super friendly and helpful throughout your whole stay. They give great suggestions on places to eat and things to do if you are new to the area. We also took our own kayaks and put in almost every day. There is a nice garage attached to the house where you can store kayaks, bikes or strollers. This was our 13 month daughters first big vacation and the place was spacious enough for her to have room to play! Overall, we are extremely happy with our stay and look forward to going back.
