'Het hotel bevindt zich op een groot parkeerterrein (services) met diverse eetgelegenheden. Leeds en York zijn goed te bereiken. Kamers zijn ruim en comfortabel. Helaas was de volgende dag onze kamer niet schoongemaakt en hier kwam niet echt een professionele reactie op, later wel excuses.'

'The staff were courteous on arrival and gave us a tour of the beautiful building before showing us to our room. The house and surrounding environment were superb. The room was comfortable and clean albeit a little too warm at night. Our breakfast was tasty and varied served by a very polite young lady. We enjoyed our brief stay very much and would recommend it to others. '

'Rooms here are great, each one is quirky in their own way, and a lovely touch to have radio playing in room as background music on arrival. The 2 ladies that greeted us on arrival were welcoming and showed us all (4 guests) to our rooms. Evening meal in the bar was great too, cold and frosty outside, the pub reminded me as something out of The Holiday!!!'

'This hotel & Spa is absolutely amazing, the staff were so attentive to our needs, I had booked this hotel for a treat for my family which they so enjoyed, the grounds are beautiful and the food is cooked from the best quality, yes, the spa is not huge when you compare this to other spa facilities but this gives this hotel spa the advantage of giving you space to enjoy the spa experience, would I travel to this hotel again, most definitely, worth every penny.'

'Ideally placed in the centre of Knaresborough, we were welcomed warmly. The room was lovely with a generous bathroom attached. Plenty of teabags, coffee and hot chocolate sachets and fresh milk was kept in a small fridge. The chocolate was a nice touch alongside the complementary biscuits. It was very quiet and the breakfast was delicious. We will certainly visit again. '

'Very comfy big bed, shower and taps took ages to get hot, but eventually did. Lots of tea and coffee options in room together with a fridge with wine and snacks if required. Breakfast was excellent. Staff very friendly. Bit strange going in and out at back of the building, but happy to recommend as somewhere central to stay.'

'Great hotel in nice manor. The house itself is very well preserved notwithstanding the modern extensions and the modernisation of the interior. Great space rooms and good facilities like a pleasant swinging pool. We did eat in York before our arrival but the restaurant seems good, the breakfast there was excellent. Good place to stay when visiting York.'

'Pluspunten: * Mooi oud hotel * gerenoveerd * zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel * zeer ruime kamer (superior de luxe) * prima bedden met goede dekbedden en kussens * heerlijk ontbijt, ruim buffet met daarnaast diverse bestel mogelijkheden voor warme gerechten aan de tafel, zoals full English breakfast of andere ei gerechten * restaurant en bar. Geen gebruik van gemaakt, maar zag er goed uit * koffers bewaar service Minpunten: * net te ver van het centrum en het station om steeds te lopen...

'Breakfast was great, staff was nice and the location was perfect. However, Housekeeping left our door open by accident and it stayed like this the whole day until we came back late at night. We're lucky that nothing was stolen, but this could've ended very differently... That's why I can't give a higher rating. '

'Prachtige locatie, mooi historisch pand met geweldige Engelse tuin en park. Met de bus op 7 min. van York, recht aan de bushalte. Al een tweede verblijf in dit hotel, en is allen maar verbeterd. Keuken ronduit fantastisch, prachtig dineren bij kaarslicht waar je volledig in de watten wordt gelegd. Wel iets van deftige kledij te voorzien. Gezellige bibliotheek voor een 'afternoon tea', voor je in de spa of de gym duikt. Massages ook goed in prijs/kwaliteit. De vriendelijkheid waarmee elke vraag...

'The room was lovely, and our stay massively exceeded our expectations including an evening dip in the hot tub and then using the hotel bar for games. The staff made everything that much more special for my girlfriend (now fiancé) birthday and for our engagement during our stay too to put the extra special touches in. We will definitely be returning to stay again!'
