I needed a handicap room due to a recent ankle surgery and am still not weight bearing . I use a knee scooter. Upon entering the shower to use the shower chair I noticed that it was broken ( the back was broken off where the metal met the chair ) I had to stand on one foot to shower as best as I could , holding on and trying to shower. Later , I asked the front desk for another one or take it from another room. They had no replacement and subsequently ordered one ( from Lowe’s down the street ) instead of just picking it up they had it delivered, which would not arrive in time for my departure. The girl at the front desk was very apologetic and stated they would ask about compensation as I I could not shower the next morning . The next morning upon check out when talking to the manager she insinuated that I broke it . “ I inspect everything every day”. I find that hard to believe since she doesn’t work 7 days a week. I informed her this was a ADA violation. I had to use wipes to clean up. No compensation and I got an attitude. Also when we checked in the temperature was 54 degrees inside the room . Why not at least put the thermostat/ heater on for incoming guests . The place was clean but the whole ADA/ managers attitude issue turned me off.
