3.5 stars. This should easily be a 5-star rating based on the type, location, and age of the residence. We believe the detractor was the cleaning crew. All eating surfaces had to be cleaned. We did not use the toaster oven nor the microwave for the same reasons. We cleaned the hot (water) pot but didn't use that it. The strainer in the sink had not been cleared/cleaned and we didn't use the gym and game items in the basement for the same reasons. The basement floor could use a good cleaning. The main porch light needs replacing, and the screw/bolts on the dining table legs need to tightened. The walkway to the house needs attention because it poses a potential tripping hazard due to its uneven/unmatching surface. I am pointing these things out because this is someone's personal/business investment that with better attention to detail and oversight could generate higher revenue. All that aside, the location is very good with access to local shopping, entertainment, and restaurants. Nearby highways facilitate travel into St. Louis as well as surrounding locales. The beds were comfortable; the overall decor had an appealing family-oriented theme; and there was a good supply of coffees, teas, and a small variety of seasonings. There's a good selection and variety of dishes, pots and pans, silverware and utensils. A/C is stellar. Consider adding a silicone spatula and cookie/baking sheets - left a couple in the oven drawer. Host is accommodating and personable.
