  • Located on our Mohawk Riverfront Property this beautifully renovated historic caboose was originally a D&H (Delaware Hudson) transfer caboose. Later sold to service the FJ&G Fonda, Johnstown & Gloversville area in upstate NY. Includes a full kitchen, full bath and loft area with a double bed. First floor has a queen pull out sofa bed. Smart TV and internet included as well as local channels. Well behaved pets allowed.

This was my first time booking a property on Vrbo and the whole family (2 teen boys) was just thrilled with our stay. It had all the things we love about camping but didn’t get a chance to do this summer — grilling, sitting around a fire, beautiful riverfront view, tons of room to run around and play frisbee, volleyball, etc. Super cozy and clean inside and stocked with everything we needed. Plus it’s a caboose!! So fun. Chris, the host, was super helpful and responsive. Definitely recommend if you want something fun and different.

Very clean, neat location with a nice river view. Train and highway noise were a little excessive, though we live in the country, so we are not used to it. I'm sure most people would not notice the noise. Host was friendly and communicative. We would stay again.

Unique and wonderful

What a charming and totally unique property! Check in was easy, it was clean and comfortable and well appointed. The land that the rental sits on is a gorgeous spot right on the river. 10/10!

Very nice property

This is exactly what you look for in a weekend getaway or an extended stay. The owner is more than accommodating and takes pride in his property and it shows. Everything you need is there and more. It was a very pleasant and relaxing experience and Chris the owner ensures that for you. Definitely a 5 star property & host!

Great Stay

We stayed here as it was convenient to the Herkimer Diamond Mines and my son was so excited to stay in a real train car. It did not disappoint! It was very well appointed, great water pressure and decorated adorably. We had no issues or complaints for our evening. It was a very memorable stay we def recommend.

Cool Caboose

My mother-in-law has a bucket list of staying insome unique places so we booked this for her birthday. The caboose is very cool! The caboose is very clean. The kitchen had plenty of cooking supplies if needed and a nice size refrigerator. The bathroom was clean and had plenty of towels. We would highly recommend staying here, especially if you know someone that loves trains or likes staying in one of a kind places.

It was a great experience for my train enthusiasts family, the cabose was modernized while keeping its old time charm. Property Manger was great to work with as well. Very peaceful on the Mohawk River and Erie Canal system. Dont miss your opportunity book now!
