'Excellent service from the lady proprietor on check in and at breakfast daily. A great host. Good breakfast selection including hot food to order although white bread tastes unusual. Room good and had a fan in it. Decor quite old and tired, especially in bathroom but doesn’t hinder the stay. Slept well and the place was quiet even though full. Good location. Would stay again.'

'We really enjoyed our stay at the George in Castletown. The staff are incredibly friendly. The breakfast was really extensive for a Pub stay and was fresh. The only letdown was that we had a standard double bed when we booked a king! We decided not to complain as the room was clean and tidy and we were only there for one night. Would recommend and would stay there again the place has character.'

'Well located hotel within five minutes walk of the ferry port. An old fashioned style B and B with seemingly new owners (Opul Group). Rooms are large but maybe a little in need of a refresh. Everything clean. Breakfast included which was surprisingly excellent. Buffet style but even catered for us as vegans which was amazingly welcome. Well located for the town centre, next door to wetherspoons which can be loud on a weekend, but no huge problem.'

'We booked a superior room with a sea view. It was everything you could want. The view over the water was superb. The fit out was great. The convenience to the ferry terminal was great as was the access to the bus. The breakfast basket was as comprehensive as we have ever had and satisfied our requirements excellently. As for Isle of Man, we did not know what to expect but it far exceeded our expectations, The steam train, the vintage electric railway, the train up the mountain and horse drawn...

Like the fact you can have your apartment serviced - clean towels etc. If you have a car there are reserved spaces out the back in the car park. 'This place is hidden gem. Loved it so much we stayed another night. Close enough to the electric railway to give you easy access to the island.. There is NOT a lot going on in Laxey, but that exactly what we were looking for. if you just want to relax and get away. The shore hotel is a great spot'

'Locatie, restaurant en personeel waren prima! Gebrek aan parkeerruimte (alleen parkeerplaatsen met maximaal 2 uur parkeertijd, of betaalde parkeerplaatsen). Kraan in de badkamer door middel van drukknoppen die maar 3 seconden water geven, wat erg onhandig is als je je handen wast. Kortom, goed, maar je verwacht iets meer voor deze prijs.'
