Our stay at Mountain Valley Inn and Suites was extremely disappointing. We stayed in two rooms because the first room (3rd floor) had an active ceiling leak (see photo) and was filthy and in terrible condition—it didn’t even have hand soap. The second room (6th floor) was cleaner and in better shape, but the overall experience was still very poor.
In both rooms, the bedding was ripped and stained, and the blankets were very thin. We were told we received the last extra blanket, so if you choose to stay here (which I would not recommend), bring your own. The tub did not drain properly in either room.
On the first day, there was a large wet spot in the carpet that never dried. We asked for help and a new room but were denied. We were told maintenance would come, but nothing was fixed.
We were also told our dog could not be left alone in the room, even though this policy was not listed anywhere on the website prior to booking. This was not due to any complaint—just “policy.” We argued and did not follow it, but future pet owners should be aware.
Customer service was generally good, except for one front desk worker who was very unhelpful and did not address concerns with the ceiling leak.
Overall, this was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve had, especially for the price. I wish we had stayed at a Hilton nearby for about $60 more per night. I would not stay here again.
