The house is super cute and is a very short walk to downtown Salida. Itâs also directly across the street from a park that has a playground and basketball court. We would come back again!
Easy reservations and check in. Lots of room for multi family gatherings. Kitchen has everything. Backyard is wonderful and loaded for fun. Super locale and short walk downtown and river. Everyone had their own bedroom. One caution Salida has a 10 per room per night lodging tax/fee so does add to daily cost 5 10 50
The place was nice. Plenty of space and a great set up for a large group. Only gripe would be the set up of the bathrooms. Six beds upstairs shared one bathroom with a precarious claw tub that made for dicey, ingress, and egress of the shower. Also the only downstairs bathroom access is through the only bedroom on the main floor, which makes floor interesting ingress egress. We anlso had ana bit of a situation with the management company due to construction in the area. There was a lot of time spent back-and-forth on the phone and via messaging with the management company, which took away from the quality of our overall vacation. At one point, they promised a discount because the water needed to be turned off and then it seems they took that discount away. Iâm not sure they appreciate the general annoyance of the amount of time that it took away from our vacation to concentrate on the interactions. Other than that, the place was fantastic!
We love this house. Great space for three generations of our family plus one doggie! Close to restaurants and grocery stores and a very cool toy store!
This house is adorable and had everything we needed. What was very special was the location. We were a family of 10 - all adult or college age children who came to ski Monarch for the second year in a row. The kids loved staying in Salida because this house was and easy drive to the mountain and walking distance to downtown Salida.fir those who donât ski as seriously! We definitely want to return to this property!
Our 2 families stayed here during our annual ski trip to Monarch. The house was clean and well-stocked. Like the other reviews said, it is old and the upstairs was cold, but not unmanageable. Beds were comfortable and space heaters in the closet of the king room were a game changer upstairs, and the cleanliness and comfortability of the house more than made up for it. Everything worked/functioned well, and lots of posted directions/instructions were extremely helpful. Great locationâabout 30 minutes to the mountain and just a few walkable blocks to downtown Salida. Basketball court across the street was a big hit with my son. We would look for this house again on future trips.
Wonderful property and perfect location. Heating was an issue but management/owners worked quickly to provide space heaters that temporarily fixed the issue. House was spacious and nicely decorated to add to our holiday stay.
Our family came from Colorado, Wisconsin, Illinois, and North Carolina to spend several days together before Christmas. The house was decorated for the holiday, and it was so beautiful! We loved being within walking distance of downtown and a church for Christmas services, and it was only a 30-minute drive from Monarch.
This home was everything we expected and more. Extremely clean and well appointed. It is an older Victorian house so a little drafty in some rooms, especially upstairs. But there was a portable heater available which solved the issue! It was a very cold few days weather wise as well. Able to walk to town and grocery store which was very convenient. Town is lovely with fabulous views. Overall, a good time all around.
Parkside had everything we needed to make our family get together fabulous! From a comfy bed for everyone to the perfectly stocked kitchen Parkside had it all. To top it off the Location was ideal-close enough for everyone to do their own thing in and around Salida and meet back at the house for family fun. Would we stay again? Yes!
We had a great long weekend together - 4 women. We each had our own bedroom with comfortable beds and clean linens.
Our plans were mainly focused on hiking. We were thrilled when the park across the street had a Farmer's Market, the downtown area had an Art Fair, an all around great time.
Although we had a couple meals out, the kitchen had everything we needed for breakfasts and a dinner at "home".
We highly recommend.
We had a wonderful family weekend to celebrate my sonâs birthday! The home was great in so many ways. One day was rainy so we played games and went bowling. Lots of room to hang out and relax. Close to downtown for fun shopping and dining. We plan to return this winter for a ski weekend.
We had a wonderful stay in this parkside house! We were seven adults and one 3-year-old and everything we could possibly need was provided. The location to town was ideal, the playground across the street provided plenty of fun for our granddaughter. Truly, we could not imagine a more perfect, comfortable, welcoming house than this one.
Very impressive setup. Between the electronic guidebook, thoughtful amenities, signage, greeting book, parking passes & so much more - this house sets the standard for a professionally arranged short term rental. Also quaint & cozy. :)
Family of 6: parents, 3 teens, 1 kid. Nice home overall, but only having 2 small bathrooms makes things tricky. It would be challenging to have more than 6 for a long period of time. Other than that, we always have a great time in Salida & loved walking from the property to the downtown shops and restaurants!
Purpose of trip was a ski reunion. Very comfortable for a party of six adults. Cars were used for trips to and from Monarch, other activities all within walking distance.
Good. Everything very nice and spacious except bathrooms were small. Kitchen pans and pots were not clean and non-stick were awful and needed replacing. Great location.
This property was excellent! Right by a park and super close walk to shops in town. It is perfect for family with dog, because the have a separate laundry with a doggie door. This house is charming and the area is beautiful!
The house is a partially updated historic/older house. Updated kitchen, downstairs bathroom, and a mud room addition but still has beautiful wood floors. Sits across the street from a town park with basketball courts and families enjoying the grassy areas. In fact they had a farmers market on Saturday morning!
Beds were comfortable and the kitchen is way better equipped than most rentals Iâve stayed in.
We were able to easily walk to the town center for food, music, shopping and people watching. Such a great location in a great town!
There isnât a garage so youâll have to store your bikes in the secured mud room.
Overall, the home was charming, inviting, and warm. It was such a great location with the park and only a short stroll to the river and downtown area. It was perfect for our needs to have a large space to gather. The seating on the front porch and the backyard created peaceful places to be still before or after the busy of strategic planning meetings.
The kitchen had everything we needed and was so well organized and labeled which made it easy to find things and put them away correctly. And it was bigger than the picture. The porch light was not working when we arrived so they sent someone to fix it right away which was so helpful. We were surprised that the ac was mountain air but the directions for that cooling system were very clear and made it simple to cool down the house after the first night. Just be aware of that if you have allergies where that would be an issue:)
We would 100% go back and totally recommend this home.
Second time staying here with family. Itâs great for a large group and young children. The park across the street and the inviting front and backyard made our stay! Thank you!
