Of Ullswater. We used the guest house as visiting the Inn on the Lake which is literally just across the road.

'The hotel is in a beautiful setting. Quiet and peaceful. We stayed in a room with a balcony with lovely views. The room was small and in need of an upgrade in my opinion. Older furniture. The bathroom whilst a good size with nice toiletries was also looking tired in parts.
The reception staff were very helpful and friendly.
We ate Sunday lunch in the restaurant. The restaurant is lovely. The food was excellent.Although not very very generous on portions of vegetables.

'We had a relaxing couple of days.
The staff were first class.
Our room was clean & spacious with a lovely double kingsize bed.
The service was spot on the food was of good quality,fresh & local I believe.the spa facilities are good and inclusive with extra treatments available for a fee.
We came away from there feeling relaxed & refreshed.

'Location amazing - quiet, no noise from main road, great view of lake and direct access to the lovely 10 mile path all around the lake. Beds in our twin room were nice and comfy. Lovely staff. Nice breakfast. Only negative is that the hotel really needs a bit of a refurb/modernisation, but for the price it's still great value. Highly recommended'

'Very average. Overall a nice pub area.
Checkin was rushed. No parking nearby and confusing as to which car parks allowed overnight parking. Carpets were filthy and didn't look like they had been hoovered in a week.

'Nice people on the reception offering walking guides just to use as soon as we told we were planning to do some walking in the Lake District. The rooms were spaceous and very clean. In the morning on request freshly baken croissants or oatmeal During the evenings we used the DVD service for free. You can pick one and play a movie in the room.'
