**Charming Cabin Overlooking the Upper Meramec River โ€“ Peaceful Retreat Near Steelville, MO**

Welcome to **Three Pine Cabin**, a cozy and secluded getaway perched above the scenic Upper Meramec River. Located just 5 miles off I-44 (exit 208) and only 3 miles from Steelville, MO, this charming cabin is the perfect home base for a relaxing weekend or adventurous river escape.

Whether you're floating, fishing (this stretch is known for trophy smallmouth bass), swimming, or exploring local attractions, you'll be in the heart of it all. Three top-rated outfitters are located within 5 miles, offering canoe, kayak, raft, and tube rentals. One outfitter even has a convenient put-in spot just below the cabinโ€”you can walk there, float the river, and they'll shuttle you back afterward.

**The Space**
Ideal for families or small groups, the cabin comfortably sleeps up to 7 guests.

- **Bedroom 2:** Full/twin bunk bed
- **Living Room:** Full-size pull-out couch

**Outdoor Living**
Step out onto the deck and take in beautiful views of the river below. River access is just a short walk or drive away (less than 1/4 mile). Guests are welcome to use the private river access at **Birds Nest Lodge**, one of our local partners. Please be mindful of floaters putting inโ€”Saturdays from morning to early afternoon are typically busiest.

Whether you're here for a peaceful retreat or outdoor adventure, Three Pine Cabin offers the perfect blend of comfort, charm, and nature.

Sorry, there is NO internet. We are not able to get any providers to service the area at this time. Enjoy the time to unplug, enjoy the quite time, enjoy one another and enjoy nature.

Local attractions are Meramec Spring State Park, Dillard Mill State Park, the Meramec Music Theater, Wildwild Springs Lodge fall concert series, numerous vineyards and antiquing.

Note: If you look up the address on Google Maps or MapQuest they both have the location marked incorrectly. The cabin is located down the first left drive off of Idlewild Road. The cabin sets above the river.

VERY PRIVATE, SECLUDED, QUIET CABIN WITH CLOSE ACCESS TO THE RIVER. TWO VERY SMALL BEDROOMS AND THE BEDS ARE SMALL AS WELL. IT'S REALLY SET UP FOR ONE FAMILY. PARENTS IN THE QUEEN BR, KIDS IN THE FULL/TWIN BUNK BR. ONLY ONE BATHROOM. IT WAS REALLY TOO SMALL FOR TWO COUPLES BUT WE MADE IT WORK BY USING THE EXTRA MATTRESS IN THE CLOSET ON THE FLOOR. FOR WHAT WE WERE DOING (JUST A FEW NIGHTS) IT WAS PERFECT AND THE PRICE WAS RIGHT. SUPER COOL BONUS WAS THAT THE RAFTING COMPANY DROPS YOUR KAYAKS OFF RIGHT AT THE PROPERTY AND BRINGS YOU RIGHT BACK TO THE CABIN AFTER YOUR FLOAT. NICE FIRE PIT. WOULD STAY AGAIN BY OURSELVES, BUT NOT WITH TWO COUPLES UNLESS THE BEDS WERE UPGRADED.

Cabin was cozy but laid out in very functional manner. Sheltered patio was great to eat meals on and hangout. Very close to the river. Water was only about 1โ€™ deep with 2-3โ€™ pockets, perfect for kids to play and explore. Saw a bald eagle nearby .

Cute cabin, well-stocked, fantastic sunsets. Bed was a bit soft for my liking. Close to lots of great hikes and floats. Call around to book a float though, the 3 highlighted in the host's "stuff to do around here" guide charge significantly more than most others in the area.

This was a nice, secluded stay with great outdoor space. We floated with Bird's Nest Lodge, as recommended by the owner, and it couldn't have been easier. We walked down to the water where they had a raft waiting for us, floated, then the Bird's Nest team dropped us off at the cabin. So convenient and they were friendly and easy to work with. The cabin had everything you need. I would not count on using the pull out - not in great shape.

Nice and quiet cabin

Stayed with a couple of friends over July 4th weekend. The cabin is nice and clean, and has many amenities. It's a very quiet location in walking distance to the river. It was very easy to work with the owner and everything was as promised. We'll be staying here again in a couple of weeks.

Great cabin w/ minor gripe

Great little cabin for a weekend, only gripe we had was the cabin was a little dirtier than we would have liked, there was a bunch of dog hair on all the furniture and what appeared to be mold in the back of the blinds in the master bedroom. Beyond that, it's a great cabin to have a getaway as a couple or a float trip.
