'A very friendly couple who were happy to give you information if you needed it. They had a beautifully decorated property which was very comfortable. The breakfast was so well presented made from lovely fresh ingredients. A great choice to stay there.'

'The hotel is located near the train station. Carlisle in itself gave me an unpleasant feeling. After 7 pm all shops and almost all restaurants were closed and I noticed som people gathering near the station. Hotel staff however gave me a nice welcome and an overall safe feeling.'

'Prima hotel! Ik verbleef voor een nachtje. De faciliteiten zijn enorm verouderd maar het bed ligt heerlijk, de douche is lekker en het personeel is lief! (Oh en het ontbijt is echt top!!!!).'

'The staff were some of the best we have ever met and met our needs perfectly. They ensured we had a room that was suitable and went the extra mile to achieve this so a big thank you. The property is in the process of being updated but this didn't affect our stay except perhaps to see how well it appears to be going and I'm sure when this is finished they will have a hotel to be proud of. They have only owned this hotel for about 6 months and it is obvious they are making huge efforts to update...

'A gem of a place. Breakfast was delicious and food cooked to order. Added bonus is the owner is a chef. You have the opportunity to a delicious evening meal cooked without the need to drive somewhere.'

'Voor de prijs een oke hotel. De bedden zijn vrij smal en de watertemperatuur moeilijk te reguleren. Ontbijt is prima en in de avond kun je een drankje drinken aan de bar. Over het algemeen kan het hotel wel een update gebruiken. '

'Nice hotel, walking distance to the blacksmiths and all the gift shops. The room was a little dated but very spacious and clean. I loved the little fireplace heater. The staff was excellent and I enjoyed the breakfast. The only issue I had was the lack of outlets near the bed to charge your phone. I attended a wedding at Gretna and the reception was held here, I really enjoyed the dinner!'

'This was an immaculately clean and comfortable stay. The staff were so welcoming and accommodating. The restaurant had a good choice and the chef clearly takes pride in his food- great quality and lots of choice. The breakfast included traditional ootions but also good quality food. We loved the location and would highly recommend the Queens for an overnight or longer stay. We also brought out dog and we were all made to feel very welcome. '
