2/10 Horrible

I am beyond frustrated writing this, but the experience my husband and I just had with a Vrbo property in Reading, Pennsylvania demands your immediate attention. The listing was blatantly misleading. Not “slightly off.” Not “a little different.” Completely misleading. When we arrived, the exterior of the property looked like something out of a neglected, abandoned site—run-down, poorly maintained, and frankly embarrassing to even pull up to. It immediately created concern, discomfort, and a strong sense that we had been deceived. This is not what was advertised. This is not what anyone would knowingly pay for.Let me be clear: the outside condition alone was enough for us to walk away. Yes, the inside was decent—but that is not the point. You do not get to hide a property’s true condition behind carefully framed interior photos while completely ignoring the reality of what guests are walking into. The exterior matters. The first impression matters. The overall condition matters. And in this case, it was unacceptable. This wasn’t just disappointing—it felt dishonest.Vrbo positions itself as a trusted platform. Based on this experience, that trust is questionable. How does a property in that condition make it onto your platform without accurate representation? Where is the quality control? Where is the accountability? Vrbo care doesn’t care.
