'This a charming and beautiful old building. The individual rooms and common spaces are inviting, and sitting on the lanai with a view of Honolulu is wonderful! The owners provide a simple but filling breakfast and a coffee station and fridge near the sleeping quarters. All staff were welcoming and receptive to questions. If you’re looking for accommodation away from the Waikiki area, or near UH, this is a great choice. We would definitely stay here again! '

'The one star rating for communication is for the reservation foul up which was not the fault of the Ala Moana staff, they were amazing! Unfortunately, not booking through the hotel directly caused so much unneeded stress. 'The hotel staff was very warm and welcoming. They allowed us a very early check in and a very late checkout. We only had to pay day rates which were very reasonable. '

'This was our first time in Waikiki and we were very happy with the hotel! It's a bit old and outdated, but we got everything we needed: comfortable bed, clean sheets, WiFi, mini fridge, microwave and valet parking. What I loved the most was the staff! JR was delightful and the reception was amazing! Also the location is perfect! Close to the freeway and a 10 min walk to Waikiki beach. Will definitely come back next time! :) '

'I really liked the friendly service and the cosey hotelbar. The room was o.k. and clean when we arrived, but for me housekeeping came a little bit to early in the morning. I've mentioned that a couple of times at the receptiondesk but still they came at 8 am in the morning. "Goede ligging en vriendelijk personeel. Iedere dag vrijwel hetzelfde ontbijt. Parkeren is prima, maar wel duur. Hotelkamers zien er gedateerd uit en iedere dag veel lawaai gedurende de hele nacht (ook op de hoger gelegen verdiepingen). Het personeel is weinig flexibel (doen geen late check-out, opslag van bagage voor paar uurtjes; overal wordt een toeslag voor gevraagd)."

"Great location, good amenities, beachtowels for the beach and free rental beachchairs and umbrellas. Nice pool, coolest bar in waikiki (Tiki's) and nice views from the rooms. Keana from the reception was a great help. She worked nightshifts when we arrived and gave us a nice room. Only one issue for us, the elevators can be slow. Sometimes it takes a while to get to your floor. Would recommend and would come back. Mahalo! "
