Zeker geen 5 sterren waard
Bij het inchecken duurde het echt heel lang, meer dan een half uur wachten. Geen bell boy te vinden dus zelf met de koffers het halve resort over. Hopelijk zit je niet 3 hoog want er is geen lift. Parkeren is aan de andere kant van dit te grote resort. Terwijl er wordt gezegd parkeren kan bij hotel. Meat restaurant stond blauw van de bbq rook.... Er kropen 2 kakkerlakken op de bank tijdens het eten. Bediening in lobby is erg traag, kregen soms niet eens wat te drinken ondanks dat ze de bestelling wel opschreef. Je mag maar met 2 apparaten op de wifi per persoon. 3e of meer moet je betalen. Knieperig voor een 5 sterren resort. En als je wifi hebt laat de kwaliteit meer dan te wensen over...... Strand is ronduit smerig, vol zeewier. Wordt niet opgeruimd en daarom stinkt het enorm op het strand Op adults only lagen gezinnen met kleine kinderen werd niets van gezegd.... Kamers zijn verouderd en gedateerd. Vind de service niveau overall wel tegenvallen voor 5 sterren! Buffetrestaurant is prima. Personeel over het algemeen vriendelijk.

The pool area is beautiful, food was good (but cold most of the time). Staff were nice but the language barrier was difficult at times. The bathroom in my room was not very clean, leaks in the ceiling, tub dirty, and shower door falling off the hinges. Towels were dingy looking and had a very rough feeling. The bedroom was nice except for the pillows (time to buy some new ones).

There were some excellent wait staff in the main buffet. The restaurants around required reservations.( really? I'm on vacation) the 2 that we went to were sparsely seated with people. TEAM and the italian one which was for the 4 of us that attended all gave it a thumbs down. The worst for us was arrival and departure employee interactions with the front desk. You would think that they knew that we were coming for 2 weeks, that they would have a room ready. Our plane and cab drivers got us there about 1230PM. They made us wait for our room until 300PM. The warmth from these people was less than inviting. Upon check out (we paid our tab the night before), we stood at the desk and they kept taking people that just walked in. I threw the towel cards on the counter and walked out. Now here comes the concierge ..HEY...HEY!!! I showed him the receipt from the prior day and said...sorry, my cab is waiting. And walked out. We were not impressed. Food was over cooked and left in warmers to get drier. The buffet had the better food, but pretty much the same stuff everyday. The pool events were geared for 20 to 30 year olds. Out of 15days, 2 had no hot water, 2 others had no cable tv. The drain grate in the shower wasn't secured and kept flipping out of its space. You had to wait...and wait...for a buggy to move you around the property. The events were later for our liking. 9 or 930PM start times.

Everything was pretty good inside the property but we noticed we had to take a golf cart to go to the beach and the beach was too crowed, it didn't feel exclusive, we only went there one time, the other bad experience was when we came back from our excursion, they dropped us off at another hotel lobby and almost all the golf carts were out of power so we had to wait a long time. Other than that, we had a very good stay!

The room was clean but really need to be updated. The food on the resort is mediocre at best, the al cartes are the best but you need a reservation and they are only open at night. The shopping the resort shuttles to is horrible especially when we asked for a taxi to take us to the mall. We were told they font have a mall and the shopping center was the best.

Excelente para un descanso tranquilo. Al hospedarte en este hotel tienes acceso a todos los servicios de los demás hoteles del complejo, así que disfrutamos de la música en vivo todas las noches. Tienes varias opciones de restaurantes a las carta, los mejores están en el hotel Ámbar. La playa hermosa! Falta modernizar las habitaciones. El personal es muy amable y amistoso. Gracias al Team de entretenimiento de Aquamarine, Bavaro y Punta Cana, nos hicieron bailar todas las noches (Nelson, Gabriel, Juan, King Kong)

The casino gave me a fake $100 bill. When it wasn’t accepted in the gift shop the next day I went back to complain. Was treated like a criminal. Why would I travel 3000 miles to pass one $100 bill? Crooks

Our stay at this hotel was a very good experience. However, upon arriving there we were not received as VIPs as has happened in other hotels, we were not recognized as such and the worst thing was that we did not receive orientation to the facilities, shows, places to eat, etc. We had to figure it out ourselves. We felt like we sometimes lost time having to figure things out on our own. We would have appreciated that upon arrival we were given more information about what our reservation included and the places where we could and where we could not be.

The property is very lovely and the pools are great. The pool bar employees are nice and they make a good cocktail. The beach is a quick few minute ride with a shuttle and the beach bar and area is great as well. Oscar makes a great mojito! The buffet and El Olivo had very tasty food and good service. The only downside was there was a musty smell in our room. We loved our stay at the Aquamarine and will be back!

I enjoyed the beach, the drinks and the food. Check-in and welcome needs to improve. We were not told where we would find the restaurants, pools and how to get to the beach, we were instructed to take a photo of the map on the desk and that was it. Note, the rooms, or at least ours had a small TV with very limited channels (in case this is a big deal to others). Miguel at client services was very helpful and attentive, he helped with booking a la carte dinner reservations. Orly, also from client services was also very helpful. Hector, restaurant manager at the Fish Market provided excellent service and accommodated a last minute reservation. The lobby bar was great, friendly and entertaining. The pools were clean with plenty of room. Thanks to the staff at the buffet they were great!

The room we got I had a bad septic problem. The toilet backed up three times on our stay. The shower wouldn’t drain overall the whole resort, Laks maintenance issues. I’ve seen many problems around there. it was a good stay, but I would not read it. Excellent the food was OK the drinks we’re good all the liquor they used was from Dominica if you wanted something like absolute vodka top shelf.

Very good hotel, the food options in the nearby hotels (which you have access too) are amazing, the drinks are great, the buffet is solid, entertainment is pretty decent and overall a very fun, safe and enjoyable environment. Some key points of feedback: - I wish the coffee shop at ambar would be open to all hotels. E.g even if not free, maybe charge a $20 usd pass for unlimited sweets and drinks for non ambar residents. - need to make certain places open earlier, e.g gaming room at grand Bavaro (with bowling) needs to be open earlier. Sports bar needs to be open earlier so people can play pool during the day. - more chocolate dessert options for the buffet - silent disco

We really enjoyed everything from start to finish during our stay at this resort. This is a beautiful place and organized so that there really is something for everyone to make your vacation enjoyable. So many options when it comes to food, drinks, activities, etc. We will be back!

This place definitely needs an update. Lots of broken things, pretty dirty. All manageable. The downside was how awful most of the staff was. They were all clearly unhappy, unhelpful and made it clear you were annoying them when you approached them for something. We tipped well and that still didn’t help. I never leave reviews, and always give people the benefit of the doubt but the lack of service made it a must to prevent others from feeling this way. At one point the staff openly mocked us (and others) for getting to the buffet as it opened. Again, there were some nice people but 9 out of 10 of those in a service position were rude. The cleaners and transporters were lovely.
