My beautiful restored Merchant’s townhouse is the result of a loving restoration in the heart of Porto’s old town in a quiet cobbled street running parallel to the square of Porto town hall.

Behind the traditional tiled façade is a modern architectural gem, created around an atrium that floods the building with natural light. The property is filled with custom-made furniture, original art, premium appliances and fun gadgets.

Canto De Luz is one of Porto’s most loved Boutique Hotels, and consistently in the top 3 on various review platforms and Traveller’s Choice winner year on year. Now our new 2 bedroom aparthotel suite, Urban Retreat, joins our family of amazing spaces.

An architectural triumph it is flooded with light and the two studio bedrooms centre around a large patio which is a great sun trap and has an outdoor dining table and seating for 6. A fully equipped kitchen and indoor dining to seat up to 6 as well as two sofas, which convert to double sofa beds.

From an entertainment perspective, the Retreat boasts two 50 inch Smart TV's with OnDemand streaming through Free Netflix, BBC, ITV and Channel 4, as well as an Xbox with two controllers and loaded with games suitable for various age groups. There is blistering fast internet via our 500mb Fibre to the property connection.

Our rate includes Daily HouseKeeping service and our famous Breakfast served at your table in our beautiful Orangerie or garden, or by arrangement, it can be delivered to the Retreat as well.

Our breakfasts have become the stuff of legend. They change daily according to the season and produce available in our local markets – always homemade with love.
Ideal for those who want a relaxing and luxurious place to stay which is a world apart from the chain hotels and poor quality accommodation otherwise available.

Canto De Luz boasts a heated saltwater swimming pool which is available to guests between 09:30 and 20:30 daily.
