The Neighborhood:
Commonly known as “Foodie Row,” the Hawthorne/Buckman District places you within walking distance of a wide variety of local flavors! Enjoy fries and poutine at the Cartopia food cart pod, or share a pie at Apizza Scholls.
But Portland isn’t just for foodies. The vibrant indie spirit of Hawthorne is alive with a multitude of made-in-Oregon shops and boutiques, making it a true hipster haven. Catch a movie at Bagdad Theater and Pub, a revamped 1920s theater turned view-and-brew venue serving local McMenamins food and microbrews.
If bar hopping through neighborhoods isn’t your idea of recreation, head up to Mt. Tabor. This 176-acre city park, located atop a dormant volcano vent, offers miles of hiking trails and incredible panoramic views of the city, providing a perfect escape into nature right within the city limits. Whether you're a foodie, a nature enthusiast, or someone who loves exploring unique shops, the Hawthorne/Buckman District has something special for everyone.
Getting Around:
🚶 Walking — Explore the nearby Belmont and Hawthorne corridors, two of Portland's great streets for dining and shopping.
🚌 Bus — TriMet Route 15 (Belmont) and Route 14 (Hawthorne) serve the nearby corridors and downtown. Check trimet.org for current stops and schedules.
🚲 Biking — BIKETOWN bike-share stations nearby. Portland's bike lane network offers another way to explore.
🚗 Driving — Free street parking available (read signs for restrictions). Rideshare (Uber/Lyft) is another option.
✈️ Airport — Allow for traffic when driving to PDX, or connect to the MAX Red Line via bus and downtown.

Great location, clean apartment! No hot water was the biggest disappointment. If you are a light sleeper, you will have a rough go, this is a basement appt.
