Front desk staff were all very flat-affect and zero customer service oriented. The young man flew through check in process with little conversation or eye contact, did give us info on how to use room keys to access parking structure, but neglected to inform us how to use them for the elevators. We had to ask the maintenance man who told us "well, I guess it's a learning experience for you now." Both couples at the check in desk ahead of us and beside us were offered and given bottles of water with their room keys, while we were told "there's your key, you're set." On the second morning my husband asked the same young man for a couple of coffee packets for Wednesday for our room as we used the ones on our tray Tuesday morning. He went into the office and came out with one and told my husband "you got my last one." The Hyatt Park Place in Tempe really has no extra coffee packets in the office?? Luckily, the housekeeper on our floor gave us another. The woman at the desk this morning for check out seemed bothered I was there to physically check out, possibly as opposed to online method, took my key and said "you're done." The hotel itself is clean, quiet, and conveniently located to the Desert Financial event center where we had tickets for the ASU wrestling team duals. The breakfast was wonderful and the kitchen staff and housekeeping staff were warm and friendly. The desk staff, however, seemed bored, not very friendly and weren't helpful at all.
